Which province is Xuancheng?
Xuancheng is a city in Anhui Province.

Xuancheng, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province, is located in the southeast of Anhui Province, adjacent to Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, near Shanghai and Hangzhou, and belongs to wuyue in ancient times. Xuancheng area was set up in the early days of the People's Republic of China, followed by Wuhu area and Wuhu area. 1980, Wuhu area was renamed Xuancheng area.

1April, 982, Xuancheng prefectural party committee and administrative office moved from Wuhu to Xuancheng. Founded in 2000, it now governs Xuanzhou District, Ningguo City, Guangde City, Langxi County, Jingxian County, Jixi County and Jingde County. The city's land area is 12340 square kilometers, ranking fourth in the province. At the end of 20021,the permanent population of the city was 2.487 million.

Xuancheng history and culture

Xuancheng is a thousand-year-old county with a long history and prosperous humanities. Danyang County was established here in the Western Han Dynasty BC 109, and was called Xuancheng County, Xuanzhou County and Ningguo County in previous dynasties.

In the Tang Dynasty, Xuanzhou and Suzhou and Hangzhou were listed as the three central cities in the south of the Yangtze River. With profound cultural heritage, Four Treasures of the Study culture, emblem culture, poetry culture, folk culture, food culture, religious culture and clan culture coexist and prosper together, and it is known as "Xuancheng is the hometown of poets since ancient times" and "Xuancheng is the first place of humanities in Shangjiang". Jingting Mountain is known as "the first poem mountain in the south of the Yangtze River". Li Bai came to Xuancheng seven times and left more than 80 poems.
