The Functional Value of Changde Museum
Changde Museum, as the city's cultural relics collection, research and protection center, has collected more than 50,000 cultural relics, photos, books and documents at all levels for the country, including social cultural relics 1092 and 550 diaspora cultural relics, of which 78 have been identified as national first-class cultural relics, 494 as second-class cultural relics and 450 as third-class cultural relics. At present, the collection of text information and images of cultural relics above level 3 has been completed. Among the cultural relics collected in the museum, the most distinctive ones are those unearthed from the prehistoric cultural site in Changde, including the stone tools made 500,000 years ago, the pottery unearthed from the Pengtoushan cultural site named after the place name in Changde, and various pottery and stone tools unearthed from the lower culture of Zaoshi and Tangjiagang cultural sites in Changde. In addition, the bronze weapons, all kinds of bronze mirrors, lacquer wood and so on in Changde Chu-Han cultural relics can also be called fine works in Chu-Han cultural relics. Among the exquisite cultural relics after the Han Dynasty, there are the largest and best-preserved bronze mirrors of the Northern Song Dynasty unearthed in China, all kinds of jade, porcelain and bronzes unearthed from the tomb of Likas in the Jin Dynasty, porcelain pillows in the Yuan Dynasty, and various kinds of gold and silver wares with exquisite shapes and patterns in the Yuan Dynasty.
