Manjusri temple, with a history of more than 1600 years ago, is one of the earliest Buddhist temples in Suzhou, where Buddhist culture and Yangshan culture blend together. Manjusri Hall as a whole includes Manjusri Hall Square, Shanmen, Tianwang Hall, Manjusri Hall, Sheshe Terrace and other parts.
Manjusri temple Square, located at the foot of the mountain, has several important scenic spots, such as Handprint Forest, Wuzhi Town and Manjusri Archway.
The middle of Tianwang Temple at the mountain gate is for Maitreya Bodhisattva. The statue of Maitreya Buddha was later dedicated to Wei Tuotian. There are four statues of heavenly kings on each side. Go up the ancient road of Ming Dynasty to Manjusri Hall, the main hall of manjusri temple, dedicated to Manjusri Bodhisattva, whose full name is Manjusri, which means wonderful virtue and good luck.
The cliff in front of Manjusri Hall is called Sheshe Terrace. In the past, some people liked the western paradise, where they gave their lives and jumped down, so they named it Sheshetai. Standing on the stage and looking down, the stone head below goes upstream like a carp jumping over the dragon gate, so the peak under the stage here is called Carp Peak.
■ Cliff Stone Carvings
Since ancient times, manjusri temple has been a good place for people to explore ancient times. Manjusri Rock stands like a cliff next to the temple, and there are still five cliff stone carvings left on it, namely Wang Yong stone carving in Ming Dynasty, ancient stone carving, Xia Yuxi stone carving, Xibailong monk stone carving in Qing Dynasty and stone carving in Republic of China.
■ Bathing Day Pavilion
Bath pavilion, as its name implies, can watch the rising sun in the east in the morning and the sunset in Taihu Lake in the evening. The scenery is spectacular. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many scholars from Suzhou came here to watch the wonders of the sunrise.
In addition to watching the sunrise and sunset, there is also a magnificent sight that can be called the wonders of the world. According to previous historical records, the sun and the moon can be seen rising here at five o'clock in the morning on September 30 of the lunar calendar. According to relevant data, only Geling in Hangzhou, Jiulong Mountain in Pinghu, Yunyan Mountain in Haiyan, Zhejiang, and Taihu Lake in the western suburbs of Suzhou, Jiangsu can see this spectacle. This piece of Taihu Lake in the western suburbs of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province refers to Dayang Mountain. Theoretically, "the sun and the moon rise together" occurs twice a year, but due to many factors such as weather conditions and observation time, few people have seen it. Therefore, it is very precious to watch the sun and the moon rise together.
■ Banshan Pavilion
The Banshan Pavilion was built to commemorate Sun Sheng who was unjustly killed by Fu Cha, the king of Wu, in the Spring and Autumn Period. Gongsun Sheng was a fortune teller who was good at interpreting dreams in Wu during the Spring and Autumn Period. He has a very sad story about Fuxi holding a sword. In memory of Mr. Gongsun, who spoke frankly, people specially built a pavilion halfway up the mountain where he was abandoned by Fu Cha.
