Xiaotangshan geothermal hot spring has a long history and enjoys a high reputation. It is famous for its large area, shallow burial and wide range. The utilization of hot spring water can be traced back to the Southern and Northern Dynasties. In the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Ren Wei and Li Daoyuan recorded in the Notes on Water Classics that it was 1500 years ago. In the Yuan Dynasty, Xiaotangshan Hot Spring was called "Holy Soup". Xiaotangshan hot spring is used for medicinal bath, which was recorded as early as in Da Tong Yuan Zhi. In the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong built a palace in Xiaotangshan, with the inscription "Jiuhua Xixiu". The bath ruins of Empress Dowager Cixi still exist today.
Xiaotangshan hot spring is exposed in the limestone fissure of Wumishan Formation in Proterozoic, and the water temperature is mostly between 40℃ and 60℃, and the highest can reach 76℃. Hot spring water contains a variety of minerals and trace elements, with a total salt content of more than 800 mg per liter, which has high medical value. It is light yellow and clear in appearance, sweet in water, and contains many mineral elements related to human physiological functions, such as strontium, lithium, selenium and metasilicic acid.
Xiaotangshan hot spring is famous at home and abroad, with high water temperature and rich minerals and trace elements, which has magical medical and health care value.
Xiaotangshan is famous for its modern agricultural science and technology. On August 20th, 2007, Xiaotangshan Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park was rated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction by the National Tourist Attractions Quality Rating Committee.
