Ming Xiaozong was both a lifelong couple and an obvious preference for his daughter-in-law, which made her call herself "I" in front of her and disobeyed the ceremony of the monarch and the minister. Daughter-in-law is ill and carries water by herself. She wanted to cough, but she was afraid of scaring her daughter-in-law, so she ran away first. Although the parents and brothers of Queen Zhang were not well received, they were sealed again by Emperor Xiaozong of Ming Dynasty, and the earl and marquis were named as ladies, which was extremely noble.
Let's tell the story of Song Yingzong and Gao Taotao.
Gao, the mother of the queen, was born in Mengcheng, Bozhou (now Mengcheng County, Anhui Province). According to Gao Shi Bao Chuan Zi Hou, Gao Taotao's real name is Gao Zhengyi, and posthumous title is "Canglang".
Injong ascended the throne for many years, and chose Zhao Zongshi, the thirteenth son of his cousin Wang Pu, to be raised in the palace and taken care of by the empress Cao Shi. At the same time, Cao Shi also received her niece Gao Taotao. In this way, two young children met in the palace of the Northern Song Dynasty, which opened a strange love that was celebrated through the ages.
Gao Taotao and Master Zhao grew up in the palace. They grew up together in the palace. Seeing the close relationship between them, Song Renzong said to Cao, "We will think this is a good couple in the future." So when they both reached the age of 15, Gao Taotao married Zhao Zongshi, who was then the ambassador of Yuezhou and became the king of Jingzhao County.
Although Zhao Zongshi was once regarded as Chu Jun by Song Renzong, Song Renzong, who gave birth three times and died young three times, still hopes to give birth to his son in his lifetime. Therefore, Master Zhao's position as Chu Jun is full of twists and turns, and his fearful life has also had a great impact on his health.
But this did not affect his feelings with his wife Gao Taotao. Although it is a typical arranged marriage, the married life of Master Zhao and Gao Taotao is very happy and harmonious. They respect each other like guests and are full of love.
In the second year after marriage, Gao Taotao gave birth to Zhao Zongshi's eldest son, later Song Shenzong Zhao Zhuan. In the next thousand years, Gao Taotao successively gave birth to four sons and four daughters for Zhao Zong's teachers and students. Having been a spare tire for many years, Master Zhao was made a prince by Song Renzong in the seventh year of Jiayou.
The following year, Song Renzong, who reigned for 42 years, died. Zhao Zongshi, renamed Zhao Shu, inherited the throne of Song Renzong, known as Song Yingzong in history, and Gao Taotao became the queen without any doubt. Song Yingzong was 32 when he became king. Song Yingzong's four sons and four daughters were born to Gao Taotao. After he succeeded to the throne, there were no concubines in the harem except Gao Taotao.
Empress Cao once asked her confidant to quietly send a message to her daughter-in-law and niece, Empress Gao: "The official family has been on the throne for a long time, and now the sacred bow has been restored. Is it necessary to have no attendants around? " After listening to her mother-in-law's words and her menstruation, the high queen was very unhappy and replied, "The bride didn't know the queen until she married the Thirteen Regiments, that is, she never married his official." At the end of the third year of Zhiping (1066), Zhao Shu fell ill, probably for the sake of happiness. Gao Taotao took the advice of Empress Dowager Cao and chose three concubines as her husband.
In A.D. 1067, Song Yingzong, who reigned for only four years, died of illness at the Funing Hall in Bianjing Palace at the age of 35. Prince Zhao Yong succeeded to the throne, namely Song Shenzong. On the tenth day of the first month, Cao was honored as the Empress Dowager and was honored as the Empress Dowager. In February of the eighth year of Yuanfeng (1085), Zhao Jue was seriously ill. Wang Jue, the prime minister, asked for a crown prince and the queen mother to listen to politics, and Zhao Jue agreed.
Before he died, he wrote a letter to his sixth son. Because he was only nine years old, he could not run the country, so he asked his mother to help him. After his death, he succeeded to the throne, and his grandmother Gao was the empress dowager. Due to the inability of Zhezong to govern the country, Gao could only rely on the testamentary edict to listen to politics.
During the reign of Empress Dowager Gao, Sima Guang (whether this person is familiar with him or not) served as Prime Minister, and Wang Anshi's new laws were all abolished. Gao Taotao lived in the imperial court for eight years. During this period, she attached great importance to the education of her grandson Song Zhezong, and Gao Taotao made great contributions to the birth of the last monarch in the Northern Song Dynasty. In terms of political ability, Empress Dowager Cixi of Song Dynasty and Empress Liu E of Xianming Zhang are the first, while Gao Taotao of Ren Xuan is the second.
According to historical records, the empress dowager, who has been in power for eight years, has excellent ruling ability. During her administration, she was diligent and honest, and made great efforts to govern. The once declining Northern Song Dynasty was politically clear and economically prosperous under its rule.
Therefore, the Song Zhezong period was the last period of economic prosperity, well-off society, clear politics and strong national strength in the Northern Song Dynasty. This is inseparable from the virtue of the Empress Dowager Gao, and later generations are known as Yao and Shun among women.
In A.D. 1093, Gao Taotao, the empress dowager after four emperors, Renzong, Yingzong, Zongshen and Zhezong, died of illness. Song Ting canonized her as the Queen of Ren Xuan. After Gao Taotao's death, she was buried with Song Yingzong as a queen.
