Li Shiyu's introduction
Li Shiyu (1922-2010.12.29) is a librarian, famous historian and sociologist of Tianjin Literature and History Research Institute. 1922 was born in Tianjin in February, and graduated from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of Fu Jen Catholic University with a master's degree in 1948. 1982 won the Lu Hengyu Prize of the United States and was awarded the title of "Ruth Scholar" for life. He has worked in Fu Jen Catholic University, Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences, Tianjin Normal University, History Teaching magazine, Tianjin Ancient Books Publishing House and other units. He is also a visiting professor at the University of Pennsylvania and the Japanese Academy of Learning. He has been invited to give lectures in the United States, Japan, Canada, Britain, France, Russia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Taiwan Province Province. From 1940, Mr. Li investigated and studied folk secret religions and societies by field work, and later involved related disciplines within the scope of anthropology, such as history, archaeology, religion, folklore, dialects, local chronicles and philology. He is the author of Modern Secret Religion in North China, Treasure Record, Tianjin Dialect Slang, Collected Works of Social History, etc.
