fuel pump
Modern cars adopt various injection systems and different fuel supply methods. Due to the limitation of design structure, the early mechanical oil pump has not adapted to the development of modern cars and has been eliminated. Switch to electric oil pump. The electric fuel pump consists of a pump body, a motor and a shell. The motor drives the pump body to rotate, sucks fuel from the oil inlet pipe, passes through the inside of the fuel pump, and outputs it from the oil outlet to supply the vehicle fuel system. Many pumps are designed in the oil tank (partly outside). First, they can be cooled by gasoline. Second, they can also play a certain cooling role through internal circulation during work.
Common causes of oil pump damage
The fuel quality problems selected by the owner, such as unqualified fuel or more impurities, will shorten the life of the oil pump. It is recommended to add fuel with guaranteed quality as much as possible when refueling, but it is necessary to distinguish whether the higher the label, the better the quality, or whether it is suitable for your vehicle.
Improper maintenance, failure to replace or clean the fuel filter in time, leading to blockage, as above, will also shorten the service life of the oil pump. Maintain and replace the fuel filter in time or slightly in advance according to the relevant agreements in the vehicle owner's manual.
For design reasons, some oil pumps are placed in the oil tank. For vehicles with this design structure, don't wait until the fuel of the vehicle is exhausted or the fuel lamp is already on, but replenish the fuel in time when the fuel gauge shows that it is close to the bottom or the fuel lamp is just on. As mentioned above, if there is no certain heat dissipation measures (through gasoline cooling), the oil pump will work abnormally or burn out
Electrical wiring causes, such as poor contact and short circuit of the oil pump circuit, control circuit or other related electrical circuits of the vehicle, may also lead to abnormal operation or even burning of the oil pump.
Some personal habits of car owners, such as often turning on the key to listen to music or resting in the car for a long time, not only consume the battery of the car, but also are unfavorable to some electrical appliances. The oil pump may heat up or even burn out the motor due to long-term operation.
The fuel pump has reached normal damage during its service life and needs to be replaced in time. With the increase of vehicle service time, the internal structure of oil pump will gradually age and its performance will gradually decline. Carry out maintenance or replacement in time according to the relevant agreement in the vehicle manual.
Note: Due to its special design structure, when the electric fuel pump is found to be damaged, it is recommended not to repair it, but to replace it directly.
