During War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the Russo-Japanese War, Dalian was the main battlefield and was occupied by Russian and Japanese imperialism for nearly 50 years. From 1898, Russia and Japan established Dalian on the south bank of Dalian Bay.
70 years ago, the Japanese occupied the city and transliterated "Darini" into Chinese in Dalian. 1945, Japan surrendered, returned to the motherland and established a city.
It was renamed Dalian on 198 1. Today, Dalian has become an important port, industry, trade and tourist city in northern China. 1984 to 1985 China municipal government approved Dalian as an open coastal city and a city with separate plans, and awarded it to the provincial economic management department.
