Xiaoshan is located in the south bank of Qiantang River, the south gate of Hangzhou, and the famous historical and cultural city Shaoxing in the east. Xiaoshan has a long history, and the "cross-lake bridge culture" in the territory has been around for 8000 years. Jianxian county was originally named Yu Ji in AD 2. Xiaoshan terrain is dominated by plains and subtropical monsoon climate.
