It was called Jushan, Shushan and Laojun Mountain in ancient times. As early as the Tang and Song Dynasties, it was called "two wonders in Sichuan" together with Mount Emei. It is the place where the old gentleman ascended to heaven, where Taoism originated, and where the Qing Qiang people finally settled. Due to geological action, Wawu Mountain has formed a roof-like terrain slightly inclined to the east and west. No matter from which angle, the whole mountain looks like a Wawu Mountain, hence the name "Wawu Mountain", which is recognized by relevant geological experts as the highest and largest "Fangshan" in China. Because of its special geographical location, air humidity, wind direction and other conditions, Wawu Mountain is prone to magical celestial landscapes such as sea of clouds, sunrise, Buddha light, holy light and three days. The elephant trunk rock at the top of the mountain is the best place to watch. Sometimes the sea of clouds is thousands of miles under the rocks, and white waves surge. Emei and Gongga are like two boats floating in the clouds. He Zeng, a poet in the Qing Dynasty, vividly described it like this: "In a blink of an eye, white fog rises like cotton and waves. Dissolved in a day's cloud, hidden in a thousand miles. " Before dawn, a red sun rose in Ran Ran on the horizon of the "sea", bursting out, and the scene was spectacular. On a clear afternoon in Wan Li, the wind is light and clouds are surging, and colorful auras appear in the void, among which the narrowest figure is fascinating. Scenic spots and historical sites in the mountains, such as Jinding, Sheshen Cliff, Jiulao Cavern, Wannian Temple, Fuhe Temple and Yixiantian, have the same name as Emei Mountain. According to folklore, this mountain came first and then Mount Emei, hence the name "Lao'e Mountain". According to local records, Buddhism is prevalent in Lao'e Mountain, with strong incense. The temple was founded in the Sui Dynasty and flourished in the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are 72 temples on the mountain, with thousands of monks at most. During the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, Taoism was introduced to Lao'e Mountain. Ancestors built 36 temples in the mountains, and nearly 400 Taoist priests practiced in the mountains.
