At the beginning of college reconstruction, there were four departments: Education Department (two groups of pedagogy and preschool education), Literature and History Department (two groups of China literature and history), Music and Art Department (three groups of music, art and drama) and Physical Education Department. Since then, the scale of the college and the establishment of departments have increased rapidly. 195 1 summer music art department is divided into two departments: art and music. By June 1956, there were 564 faculty members (including 288 teachers) in education, Chinese, history, geography, foreign languages, political education, music, fine arts, sports, mathematics, physics and chemistry. Chinese Department and History Department moved to Beijing and merged into Hebei Beijing Normal University; The departments of education, foreign languages and political education were merged into Tianjin Normal University.

On the basis of the fine arts department, it has been expanded into a multidisciplinary college of fine arts. Painting department: oil painting, traditional Chinese painting and printmaking; Arts and Crafts Department: Decoration design, dyeing and weaving design; Sculpture department and normal department are not specialized. The Music Department merged into Tianjin Conservatory of Music. Gao Jingming is the president and party secretary.
1962.8- 1970.9 Hebei Art Teachers College
The original music department was merged into Tianjin Conservatory of Music and moved back; 1966 at the beginning of the cultural revolution, the college was devastated. Gao Jingming is the president and party secretary.

Since February 1980, it has been named Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
