Why build a stone Buddhist temple on the top of the Western Hills, and offer a blood-saving stone in the temple?
Here is a story about Kangxi's private visit.
There was a fatuous emperor in the Ming Dynasty. He was afraid that peasant rebels would besiege Beijing and there was no coal burning in winter, so he wanted to store a lot of coal in Jingshan area. He handed down the imperial edict that rich people can open private kiln factories and mine coal mines in Xishan at will; However, all the coal mined must be sold to the royal family and transported to Jingshan, and it is not allowed to sell it privately. Coal mining in Xishan is a profitable business. In less than a year, dozens of small kiln factories have been built around the crossing tower.
Coal from the Western Hills, pulled by carts, pushed by carts and carried by camels, is continuously transported into the capital and piled in Jingshan, so people call Jingshan "Jingshan Park".
The kiln owners of Xishan coal plant earn the money of the emperor's glistening, and don't care about the lives of the kiln workers at all. It is not safe to work in the tunnel. Within three days, there were landslides, explosions, people who died of smashing and people who died of smoking. As the saying goes, "1000 goes into the kiln and 500 goes out"! I broke my arm and my leg, and I was disabled for life. How lucky! What kiln worker is not yellow, hungry or thin! These kiln workers really can't stand this crime. They talk to each other in series, huddle together and get together. One night, they all escaped from the western hills and returned to their homes to make a living.
Xishan people go to the kiln, there is no coal to produce, and the Jingshan Park in the palace cannot be piled up. The emperor came up with a new trick. He stipulated: "All kinds of criminals who are willing to dig coal in Xishan can't go to prison, even if they are capital crimes." In this way, criminals from far and near, in order to survive, all went to Xishan as kiln workers. The kiln owner colluded with the royal family, and in order to prevent the kiln workers from escaping, they were locked in the coal kiln to work; As long as you enter the kiln door, you are not going to come out alive! This is the inhuman "closed door kiln".
In the Qing dynasty, although coal was not transported to Jingshan; However, there are still many such closed-door kilns, and the criminals are kiln workers. One day, Emperor Kangxi heard about the West Mountain Menzi Kiln, where people were treated as animals, like a hell on earth, and he wanted to see it with his own eyes. Dressed as an ordinary man, he rode to the western suburbs, climbed the western hills and visited the Cross Tower privately. He entered the kiln with several new criminals, and he was startled: the rotten meat smell from the dead made him cover his nose; When I raised the small stone lamp, I saw that the side of the tunnel was covered with femur and skull ladle. Kangxi was frightened. He thought, these dead people are all from the Great Qing Dynasty, and I am a disgrace to the emperor! I want to go back to the Forbidden City as soon as possible. The first thing to do is to close the kiln by decree.
Kangxi climbed to the entrance of the kiln with a small stone lamp, but forgot that it was a "closed kiln". Only coal was allowed, and no one was allowed to let go! Kiln workers eat, drink and sleep in coal mines, and are not allowed to leave half a step. Kangxi climbed to the door of the kiln, got a whip and was kicked down. What shall we do? He wants to write an imperial edict and ask the minister to save him. But where did Four Treasures of the Study come from in the coal mine? Who can preach the imperial edict for him? He saw a big coal stone beside him and came up with an idea. He was cruel, biting his middle finger with his teeth and writing some poems on the coal stone with blood drops.
Zhenlong was trapped in a closed kiln,
I'm so worried under the cross tower.
Blood-stained coal blocks preach the imperial edict,
Give me back the Qing dynasty quickly.
The inscription reads "Kangxi Imperial Blood Inscription". After writing the word blood, Kangxi fainted. He was born in the palace, grew up in the palace, and lived in luxury since childhood. How could he have been to such a terrible place?
Besides, there is no emperor in the palace! The ministers were so anxious that they quickly sent people out to inspect. Suddenly I found a coal stone with the word "blood" written on it in Jingshan, only to know that the emperor was trapped in a closed kiln in Xishan. The imperial court rushed to send troops to the western hills. The Eight Banners guards destroyed the kiln factory, arrested the kiln owner, smashed the kiln door and rescued Emperor Kangxi from the tunnel. Kangxi handed down the imperial edict to close the closed kiln in Xishan forever; For those kiln owners who are guilty of the most heinous crimes, the customs should be closed and the chop should be cut; Cancel the old practice of criminals working as kiln workers, and send people to run official kiln factories in the palace.
After playing here, Xishan Guanzi Kiln was cancelled. On the west side of the Ferry Tower, people opened up a Shan Ye with an area of half an acre, built a stone Buddhist temple, and offered a "blood-saving stone" in the main hall. Don't underestimate this small temple, the incense used to be quite prosperous!
