Mr. President, delegates, fellow Americans,

I am honored to get your support and accept your nomination of me as the presidential candidate of the United States.

When I said this four years ago, no one foresaw what these years had brought us. On a quiet morning, we saw tragedy arrival in the center of this great city; We saw rescuers go forward bravely in the face of danger; We know that all the passengers on the hijacked plane are dead, which makes their killers feel scared; We saw the battered economy get back on its feet, and American soldiers occupied the mountains, crossed the sandstorm and liberated millions of people. Their bravery made those who landed in Normandy proud.

Since 200 1, there have been mountains crossing in front of Americans, and we have found the strength to climb. Now, because of the hard road, we can see the valley under our feet; Now, because we firmly face the challenges, we can feel that the historical goals and great future are within reach. We will build a safer world and a more hopeful America, and nothing can stop us.

I am fortunate to have an outstanding vice president in the work we have completed and will complete. In difficult days, I rely on Dick Cheney's calmness, steadiness and judgment. I am honored to have him by my side.

I am very grateful to share my life with laura bush. Americans gradually saw the integrity, kindness and perseverance I saw 26 years ago. We all love our first lady.

I am a lucky father with two lively, intelligent and lovely little daughters. I am lucky, and my sister and brother are also my good friends. I have always been very proud and grateful, because I am the son of George and Barbara bush.

My father served by Ronald Reagan, another great American president, for eight years. His optimism, kindness and integrity can be felt in this hall and in our hearts, which will shape our party.

In two months' time, voters will choose our administrative record, our beliefs and our vision to guide us forward. The presidential election is a competition about the future. Tonight, I will tell you my position, my belief, and where I will lead this country in the next four years.

I believe that every child can study and every school must be able to teach, so we passed the most important federal education reform bill in history. Because of our actions, the children have made great progress in reading and mathematics. American schools are getting better and better Nothing can stop us.

I believe that we can shoulder the moral responsibility of respecting the elderly in America. We joined forces with Democrats and Republicans to strengthen the medical insurance plan. Now the elderly can get immediate help when they buy medicine, and soon everyone can get prescription drug insurance. Nothing can stop us.

I believe in the vitality and innovative spirit of American workers, entrepreneurs, farmers and ranchers. We used the biggest tax cuts of our generation to stimulate their energy. Because of our actions, our economy began to grow again, creating employment opportunities. Nothing can stop us.

I think the most solemn duty of the president of the United States is to protect the American people. If the United States is indecisive and weak in this era, the world will slide into tragedy. Under my care, this will not happen.

My campaign has a clear and positive plan, which is to build a safer world and a more hopeful America. My campaign is based on a compassionate conservative idea: the government should help people improve their lives, not manage their lives. I think this country needs a stable, consistent and principled leader. That's why we will win this election with your help.

The story of America is a story of free expansion: just like an expanding circle, it keeps growing, extends further and contains more. Our country's promise when it was founded is still our deepest promise: in our world, here and in our homeland, we will expand the territory of freedom.

The era in which we live and work is undergoing great changes. The workers of our parents usually have only one job and one skill, and they work in the same company for a lifetime, receiving medical insurance and pension. And almost all the workers are men. Nowadays, workers will change jobs many times in their lives, and even change jobs. The most drastic changes have taken place in our society, and two-thirds of mothers have gone out to work.

This ever-changing world is an opportunity for all Americans to win a better life, support your family and have a valuable career. The government should help you. Many of our basic systems, such as tax law, health insurance, pension plan and employee training, are formulated for yesterday's world, not tomorrow's world. We will change these systems so that all citizens can better prepare and equip themselves and freely choose and pursue their dreams.

My plan begins with providing security and opportunities brought by economic growth. Now we are in the global market, which provides new buyers for our products and new competition for our workers. In order to create more employment opportunities, the United States must become the best place to develop industry and commerce in the world; In order to create jobs, my plan encourages investment and expansion by limiting federal government spending, reducing regulation and adopting a permanent tax reduction plan; In order to create jobs, we will reduce our dependence on foreign energy; In order to create employment opportunities, we will expand trade, establish a level playing field and sell American products and services all over the world. We must protect small business owners and workers from the threat of job opportunities in the United States brought about by the proliferation of irresponsible lawsuits.

Another problem that drags down the American economy is the current tax law, which is basically a mess of laws and full of loopholes that take care of special interest groups. It is a headache for people to spend billions of hours filling out forms every year. The American people and our economy should have a simple, fair and growth-friendly system in the future. In the new term, I will lead a cross-party action to reform and simplify the federal tax law.

Another focus of our new term is to help workers benefit from the expanding economy and find better and higher-paying jobs. In a changing era, many workers want to go back to school to learn different and higher skills, so we will double the "main on-the-job training program" and increase the funding for community colleges. I know that with the right skills, American workers can compete with anyone in the world anywhere.

In an ever-changing era, some communities have fewer opportunities than others. In order to support American workers living in more difficult communities and those who have lost their jobs in manufacturing, textile and other industries, we will create an "American opportunity zone". In these areas, we will provide tax cuts and other incentives to attract new businesses, improve housing and job training, and bring hope and job opportunities to the whole United States.

When I visited all parts of the country, I met many workers and small business owners who told me that they were worried that they could not afford medical expenses. About half of the people without medical insurance are employees of small businesses and their families. In the new term, we must allow small businesses to unite and buy insurance at the discounted price enjoyed by large companies. We will also reduce taxes, encourage small businesses and their employees to set up medical deposit accounts, and provide direct help to low-income Americans to buy these insurances. These accounts can give workers a sense of security, provide critical illness insurance, provide tax-free savings for daily medical expenses, and know the freedom to take their accounts with them when changing jobs. We will provide better medical services for low-income Americans; During my new term, I will ensure that every poverty-stricken county has a community or rural medical center.

I met many good doctors when I visited all over the country. Gynecology, in particular, went bankrupt because of expensive lawsuits. In order to make medical services more affordable, it is necessary to pass the medical responsibility reform now. In everything we do to improve American health care, we will ensure that medical decisions are made by doctors and patients, not bureaucrats in Washington.

In a changing era, the government must stand on the side of workers' families. In the new semester, we will revise the outdated labor law and provide the choice of fixed working hours and flexible working hours. Our laws should never hinder the establishment of a more family-friendly working environment.

In my new term, my other priority is to build a "ownership society", because ownership brings security, dignity and independence.

Because of our policy, American ownership is the highest in history. Tonight, we set a new goal: to build 7 million affordable housing units in the next 10 year. In this way, more American families can open their doors and say, welcome to my home.

In an ownership society, more people will have their health plans and have confidence in their pension plans, and we will keep the promise of social insurance. With a large number of baby boomers approaching retirement age, many of our children and grandchildren are understandably worried about whether social insurance will be enough for them when they need it. We must strengthen social insurance and allow young workers to deposit taxes into personal accounts. You can call it an egg for hatching, and the government will never take it away.

In all these suggestions, what we seek is not a government plan, but a road leading to more opportunities, more freedom and greater control over our lives.

This road should start with our youngest American. In order to build a more hopeful America, we must help children realize their dreams, which can be realized through vision and personality. Tonight, I remind every parent and teacher to tell every child that no matter what your environment and where you live, your school should be the road of hope for America.

We are transforming our school, raising standards and focusing on results. We insist on being responsible to the people, improve the ability of parents and teachers, and ensure that the people manage local schools themselves. By testing every child, we found those who needed help and provided unprecedented financial support to help them get the help they needed. Ganisville Elementary School in northeast Georgia is mostly Hispanic, and 90% of them are poor children. This year, 90% of the students passed the statewide reading and math exams. The headmaster expressed his idea like this: "We don't emphasize what our school can't do, but pay attention to what we can do." We tried our best to get the children to cross the finish line. "The headmaster is challenging the softness and stubbornness of' low expectations'. This is the spirit of our education reform. Our country promises not to let a child fall behind.

We are making progress and there are more things to do. In an ever-changing era, most new job opportunities are for those who have at least two years of college education. However, only one out of every four students can get there. In our middle school, we will fund an intervention project to help teenagers solve problems. We will focus on math and science. When we make progress, we will demand stricter graduation exams. By improving middle school grades and expanding financial assistance to low-and middle-income families, we will help more Americans start their careers with college diplomas.

American children must have a healthy start in life. In the new term, we will strengthen our efforts to record millions of eligible poor children who have not yet registered in the government medical insurance plan. We will not let lack of information and attention prevent these children from getting the medical insurance they need.

Anyone who wants to know my schedule can find the details online. This website is not very imaginative, but it is easy to remember: GeorgeWBush.com.

This changing era may be an exciting time to expand opportunities. Here, you face a choice. My opponent's policy is quite different from ours. We are on the road to the future, and we will not look back.

In this ever-changing world, some things will not change: our life values, the system that gives us meaning and goals in life. Our society is based on responsibility, morality and family commitment.

Because family and work are the source of stability and dignity, I support the welfare reform of strengthening family and requiring work. Because a caring society should cherish its weakest members, we must prepare a place for those unborn children. Because religious charity provides a safety net of kindness and sympathy, our government cannot discriminate against them. Because the marriage between a man and a woman deserves a sacred position in our society, I support the protection of marriage from "excessive judicial activities." I support the nomination of federal judges who understand personal opinions and strictly interpret the law.

My opponent recently announced that he is a candidate with conservative values, which should surprise many of his supporters. Now, there is something wrong with his statement. If you say that the heart and soul of America are in Hollywood, I'm afraid you are not a person with conservative values; If you vote against the Defense of Marriage Act signed by the two parties and President Clinton, you are not a candidate with conservative values; If you give a speech and call President Reagan's eight years in power "the dark age of morality", then you may be many things, but conservative values are definitely not one of them.

This election will also determine how the United States responds to the continuing threat of terrorism. You know my position. 9 1 1 Three days later, I stood on the ruins of the Twin Towers where Americans died. The worker wearing a helmet shouted at me, "whatever it takes." A man took my hand and said, "Don't let me down." From that day on, I got up every day thinking about how to better defend our country. No matter what the cost, I will not timidly defend America.

Therefore, we are fighting terrorists on a global scale, not for pride, not for power, but because the lives of our citizens are threatened. Our strategy is clear. We tripled our expenditure on homeland security and trained an emergency team of 500,000 people, because we must firmly defend our homeland. We are reforming our army and strengthening intelligence work. We launched attacks against terrorists overseas, so that we don't have to face them at home. We are working hard to promote the expansion of freedom in the Greater Middle East, because freedom will bring a promising future and the peace we want. We will win.

Our strategy has succeeded. Four years ago, Afghanistan was the base of Al Qaeda, Pakistan was a transit point for terrorist organizations, Saudi Arabia was a fertile ground for terrorists to raise funds, Libya secretly sought nuclear weapons, Iraq was a threat to growth, and Al Qaeda was never challenged when planning attacks. Today, a free Afghanistan is fighting terrorists; Pakistan is arresting terrorists; Saudi Arabia is searching for detention; Libya is destroying its nuclear weapons program; A free Iraq is fighting for freedom; About three-quarters of key Al Qaeda figures and associates have been detained and killed. We have played a leading role, many countries have joined our actions, and the United States and the world are safer.

This progress involves meticulous diplomacy, clear moral goals and some difficult decisions. The hardest decision is about the Iraq war. We know Saddam Hussein's record of aggression and his support for terrorist activities. We know his long history of seeking and even using weapons of mass destruction. We also know that 9 1 1 needs our country to change its thinking. We must and will face the threat of the United States, or it will be too late.

In Saddam Hussein, we see a threat. Members of both parties, including my opponent and his running mate, saw this threat and voted to authorize the use of force We went to the United Nations Security Council and unanimously passed a resolution demanding that the dictator either disarm or face serious consequences. The leaders in the Middle East demanded his cooperation. After nearly ten years of diplomatic efforts, we gave Saddam Hussein another chance and the last chance to fulfill his responsibility to the civilized world. He refused again, and then I was faced with the decision to enter the Oval Office without the president's initiative. The president must be ready to make a decision at any time. Did I forget the lesson of 9 1 1 and accept what a madman said, or did I take action to defend our country? If faced with that choice, I will choose to defend America every time.

Because we took action to defend our country, Saddam Hussein's regime and the Taliban have become history through murder. More than 50 million people regained their freedom, and more places in the Middle East began to build democracy. In Afghanistan, terrorists spare no effort to intimidate people. However, as the greatest support for democracy,10 million citizens have registered to vote in the presidential election in June+10, 5438. Despite the continuing violence, Iraq now has a strong Prime Minister and a national committee, and national elections are scheduled for next year 1 month. Our country will stand with the people of Afghanistan and Iraq. Because the United States has made a promise, the United States must honor it. What is important is that we are serving a major historical mission, which will make our country safer. A free society in the Middle East will be a society full of hope, not a hotbed of anger and violence. Free governments in the Middle East will fight terrorists, not shelter them. This will help us to protect peace. Therefore, our tasks in Afghanistan and Iraq are clear: we will help the new leaders to train their troops, hold elections and return to the road of stability and democracy as soon as possible. Then our army can go home with the glory they won.

Our soldiers understand the historical significance of our work. An army expert wrote to his family: "Our army is transforming a once disgusting society into a place full of hope. The various terrorist enemies we face in Iraq today, "he went on," are the real targets behind the United States, which is a test for our country. As your soldiers, we have done a good job in combating evil terrorists and won many victories. "

This young man is right. Our soldiers have done excellent work for America. Tonight, I want to say to them and their families: You are involved in a historic struggle. Because of your service and sacrifice, we are destroying the plans and lives of terrorists and making America safer. Because of you, Afghan women are no longer shot in stadiums; Because of you, the Iraqi people no longer have to be afraid of being executed and buried in large-scale pits. Because of you, our world is more just and peaceful. We will provide you with all the resources, tools and support you need to win.

My opponent and I have different plans again. Congress overwhelmingly approved my proposal of $87 billion to fund our combat teams in Afghanistan and Iraq. My opponent and his running mate voted against buying ammunition, fuel, transportation and armor. When asked to explain his vote, the senator said, "I did invest $87 billion first, and then I voted against it." He said he was very proud of his vote. After further questioning, he added: This is a "complicated" matter. Supporting the army in the battle is not a complicated matter.

Our allies also know the historical significance of our work. About 40 countries are in Afghanistan and 30 countries support us in Iraq. I am very grateful to the leaders of various countries for their courage and wise suggestions, including Prime Minister Howard, President Kvas Neusky, Prime Minister Berlusconi and, of course, Prime Minister Blair.

My opponent took a different approach. I quote him. During the war, he called America's allies "an alliance that was coerced and bribed". This includes Britain, Poland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark, El Salvador, Australia and other countries worthy of the respect of all Americans. They should not be laughed at by politicians. I respect every soldier in every country. They are working with us to accomplish the task given by history: America is grateful.

People who are free because of us will never forget. Not long ago, seven Iraqis came to the Oval Office. They had an X on their foreheads, and their right hands were cut off by Saddam's secret police, which was a heinous punishment for unwarranted charges. During our sad visit, an Iraqi used his prosthetic hand to slowly write God bless America in Arabic. I am very proud that our country is still the hope of the oppressed and the greatest force on earth.

Others also understand the historical significance of our work. Even the terrorists know. They know that a vibrant and successful democracy in the heart of the Middle East will discredit the extreme "hate ideology". They know that men and women full of hope, mission and dignity will not tie bombs to their bodies and then kill innocent people. Terrorists use their cunning and cruelty to fight against freedom, because freedom is their greatest fear. They should be afraid, because freedom has begun a long way.

I believe in the power of freedom. Advancing the cause of freedom is the wisest use of American power. The citizens of Afghanistan and Iraq have seized this opportunity, and their examples will send hopeful signals to some key areas. Palestinians will hear these signals: democracy and reform are within reach, just as peace belongs to our good friend Israel; Young women in the Middle East will hear this signal: a day of justice and equality is coming; Young people can hear our signal: the progress and dignity of the country lies in freedom, not tyranny and terror; Reformers, political prisoners and exiles have heard this signal, and their dream of freedom will not be rejected forever. When freedom moves forward from heart to heart and from country to country, America will be safer and the world will be more peaceful.

There will always be skeptics, and there have been similar jobs in the United States before. 1946, Berlin was captured by allied forces 18 months later, a reporter in The New York Times wrote: "Germany is a land facing economic, political and moral crisis, and European capitals are in fear. In every military headquarters, people can see vigilant officers and do their best to deal with the consequences of the occupation policy that they admit has failed. " Maybe the same person is still writing an editorial. Fortunately, we have a staunch President Truman, a persistent American people who know that the new democratic regime in the center of Europe will bring stability and peace. Because of generations of Americans' firm belief in freedom, we have a better and safer life today.

The progress we and our allies have made in the Middle East has not come easily, nor has it been achieved overnight. But Americans, no one should be surprised by the power that "freedom" has changed our lives and our country. This power made people embark on a sinister journey of settlement, inspired colonial resistance, ended the evil of slavery, and made our country confront the tyrants of the twentieth century. We are honored to help establish democracy in Germany, Japan, Nicaragua, Central Europe and the Balkans, and the glorious story continues to be written. I believe that America is called to lead the cause of freedom in the new century. I believe that millions of people in the Middle East are silently praying for freedom. I believe that if given the chance, they will accept the most civilized form of government invented by mankind. I believe this, not because freedom is a gift from America to the world, but a gift from God to every man and woman in the world.

This moment in our country will be remembered by people. Generation after generation will know that we have kept our beliefs and commitments. Generation after generation will know that we have seized the opportunity to build a safe and peaceful future. The freedom of many people and the future national security now depend on us. Tonight, my fellow Americans, I ask you to stand with me.

In the past four years, you and I have known each other. Even if we disagree, at least you know my beliefs and positions. You may have noticed that I have some shortcomings. When Schwarzenegger started to do this, people sometimes had to point out that my English was problematic. Some people look at me and find some "arrogance", which is called "liveliness" in Texas. I feel a little too impulsive from time to time. We should thank the white-haired lady sitting there for this.

One thing I learned during my presidency: no matter what shortcomings you have, people will notice; No matter what advantages you have, you will need them. These four years have brought many moments that I can't foresee and forget. I tried my best to comfort the Americans who suffered the most during 9 1 1. I didn't know how much they lost until they showed me photos and told me stories. I know from first-hand experience that ordering Americans into the battlefield is the hardest decision, even if it is the right one. I salute the wounded soldiers. Some people have a long way to go. They said they just did their job. I took the children of the dead soldiers. Those children are told that their parents are heroes, but they prefer their parents to come back.

I also met the soldiers' parents, wives and husbands. They once received a rolled-up national flag to bid farewell to their beloved soldiers. I am deeply honored that many people also prayed for me and encouraged me in this final farewell. Where does this power come from? How can people affected by sadness feel so proud? This is because they know that the people they love do good things at the last moment of their lives. Because they know that freedom is precious to those they have lost. In those military families, I saw the great character of a great country: full of ideals, decent and strong.

The world has seen the spirit of a place three miles away from here. When the city is facing destruction, it raises the national flag in the ruins and despises the enemy with their courage. My fellow Americans, as long as our country is alive, people will see the rebirth of new york. They will say: Here, tall buildings fall and a country stands up.

In our army, we have seen the American spirit, and they always overcome all difficulties; We can see the American spirit in the veterans who support us. In times of worry, they supported our military families. In young people, we see the American spirit, and in them, we find new heroes. In workers and entrepreneurs, we find the American spirit. They revived our economy with hardship and optimism. These have undoubtedly verified one of my beliefs: We have passed the test after walking through thousands of waters in Qian Shan, and the United States has the confidence to achieve anything.
