Briefly describe the types and development of world volleyball matches.
1, World Volleyball Championships

The World Volleyball Championship is an international volleyball competition sponsored by the World Volleyball Federation. This is the earliest and largest volleyball match in the world. Held every four years, it is widely valued by all countries. Originally held in the same year as the Olympic Games, it was changed from 1962 to the second year after the Olympic Games (except for the fifth women's event). The champion can directly participate in the next Olympic Games.

The first World Championship started at 1949. At first, only men competed, while women competed at 1952. At the beginning of the competition, there is no limit on the number of intercontinental people, that is, all teams who sign up for the competition can qualify for the competition; Because volleyball has gradually become a popular sport in the world, more and more countries hope to qualify for the competition. Therefore, starting from 1986 (male 1 1, female 10), only 16 teams are allowed to participate in the World Championships. The specific qualifications are the seven teams that won 1 to the seventh place in the last competition. Host country 1 team, five champion teams in the five continents championship, top three teams in the final qualifying tournament (Tour Cup) *** 16 teams.

1994 FIVB revised the qualification for the World Championships. The final qualification qualifiers held by FIVB municipality directly under the central government increased from the original top 3 to the top 9 eligible to participate in the competition. Cancel the rule that "2 to 7 players in the last World Championships are eligible to participate".

Competition mode: the competition is divided into three stages: preliminary, semi-final and final. The preliminaries are divided into four groups for round robin, with the first place in each group participating in the final and the second place in each group drawing lots for the rematch round robin 13- 16. In the final stage, the top four teams in the group draw lots to reserve seats for one game in two groups, and play four games with the two teams in the rematch (also draw lots to rank). The winner decides the top four by elimination system, and the loser decides 5-8 by elimination system. This new way of competition makes the competition more intense.

2. World Cup Volleyball Match

The predecessor of this project is volleyball competition in Asia, Europe and America. 1964, FIVB changed its name to "world cup" volleyball match, and decided to hold the first world cup men's volleyball match in Poland in September 1965, and the first world cup women's volleyball match in Uruguay in June 1973. The World Cup is an international volleyball competition in which high-level men's and women's teams from all over the world participate. The top three teams are eligible to enter the Olympic Games.

199 1, the date of the World Cup was changed to the year before the Olympic Games. The host country of this year's World Cup is Japan. The qualifications for participating in the World Cup are: the host country, the champion and runner-up of the intercontinental championship held that year, and the host country of the next Olympic Games *** 12 team. The competition mode adopts single cycle system!

3. Olympic volleyball match

1964 At the 18 Olympic Games held in Tokyo, volleyball was listed as an Olympic event for the first time. The Olympic Games is the highest level competition in the world, which is held every four years. The qualified teams are: champions from all continents, teams from the host country, top three teams before the last World Volleyball Championship, three teams in FIVB municipality, and *** 12 teams. Competition mode: First, the top two teams are selected in groups and cycles for cross-competition. However, the competition method also changes according to the venue and time, and each competition is decided by FIVB.

The above are the three world volleyball competitions, which are the most important events in volleyball competition. Only by winning three competitions can you become a real world champion.

The World Volleyball Grand Prix is an annual large-scale world volleyball competition organized by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). Compared with men, it is a world league, but the difference is that the former does not have to pay high entry fees like the latter.

In view of the fact that the three major world events of women's volleyball (World Cup, World Women's Volleyball Championship and Olympic Games) are held in a fixed host country every four years. In order to strengthen the attention and attraction of the world (especially the audience in East Asia) to women's volleyball, FIVB held the first annual World Women's Volleyball Grand Prix on 1993, and decided to participate in the finals according to the results of each event. The winner of the final is the champion of the whole project. Sub-events and finals were held in East Asia, and some sub-events were held in Europe and America in recent years.

The status of the World Women's Volleyball Grand Prix is not as good as the world's three major competitions every four years, but the prize money is far better than the world's major competitions. This is pure commercial competition. Therefore, winning the World Women's Volleyball Grand Prix is generally not a world champion. However, the Grand Prix has created the star of the world women's volleyball team and contributed to the promotion of women's volleyball in the world.

The English full name of the Grand Champions Cup is World Grand Champion Cup (WGCC), which is the fourth highest-level international volleyball event launched by FIVB after the Olympic Games, World Cup and World Championships. The Grand Champions Cup was founded in 1993 and is held every four years. The men's and women's volleyball teams qualified for this competition include the top four teams of the last Olympic intercontinental champion, the host country and a team that supports wild cards, which is similar to the "Confederations Cup" in football matches. The competition system of the Grand Champions Cup is the same as that of the World Cup, with a single round robin system. After five rounds of single round robin, the team with the highest score won the championship. The total prize money of the Grand Champions Cup reached 2 million US dollars, the champion could enjoy 300,000 US dollars, and the sixth place earned 50,000 US dollars. The high bonus makes the teams' enthusiasm for participating in the competition very high.

The establishment of the Grand Champions Cup has filled the gap that there is no international volleyball competition one year after the Olympic Games, so that the volleyball competition will be maintained every year in every Olympic cycle.
