I believe that the historical responsibility entrusted to college students by the times is to devote themselves to construction and strive for building China into a prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized and harmonious socialist country for life. In order to accomplish this historic mission, I think we should do the following:

1. To constantly cultivate their own values, only those who love the motherland will really care about the fate of the motherland and the nation, know how to understand what the motherland and the people need with sincerity, and know how to persist in striving to improve their ability to realize the needs of the motherland and the people. This is very helpful for us to set up lofty ideal goals. Only the ideal combined with national interests is a lofty ideal. Moreover, having such an ideal will not be lost because of a little setback, which will enable us to move forward more firmly towards the ideal, and also draw motivation from the development and progress of the country and constantly motivate ourselves, so as to devote ourselves to socialist construction in a down-to-earth manner.

2. Concerned about current affairs and national policies. Modern society is a society with rapid development of information. Only by obtaining information accurately and not understanding it can we create value with information.

As the saying goes, sharpening a knife does not miss the woodcutter. Correct information and timely understanding can reduce detours. In the history of modern China, there were many losses caused by ignorance. Therefore, in order to realize that we can better keep up with the pace of social development, meet the needs of the motherland's construction and broaden our horizons, it is necessary for us to care about our country.

Family current affairs and policies. In particular, some big policies are often related to many aspects and have a great impact on people's lives. If we can't understand the help and improvement of current events and policies to the current situation, it will easily lead to resistance, which is not conducive to the implementation and development of national policies.

In recent years, some college students have done things that are not in line with national interests. Some college students are patriotic, but because they don't know enough about the current situation, they are used by some people with bad intentions and become accomplices of people who harm the interests of the people. So I think it is very important for college students to learn knowledge, but if there is no goal to guide them to use their abilities reasonably.
