I have known how to listen to the ancients since I was four or five years old. I remember listening to the ancient stories told by Uncle Kai: Yang Jiajiang, The Water Margin, The Romance of Three Kingdoms, The Legend of Walking in the Tang Dynasty, The Legend of Flying Fox, The Dragon Slayer in Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain, The Sword with the Blood of the Royal Family, Xiao Li Flying Knife, Revenge of the Shu Sword, The Duke Of Mount Deer and Twilight City in Mao Zedong. Foshan radio station was established in the later period, which has a unique eye. Uncle Kai was invited to tell a series of new martial arts novels. Uncle Kai's voice is sonorous and powerful, and he tells stories of ancient times with rich feelings. The characters he portrayed are unforgettable and lifelike, and imitating female voices is a must, which won the essence of ventriloquism.
There is Jin Yong in the well and Uncle Kai on the radio. People didn't have much recreation in the 1980s, so it was also the heyday of listening to the ancients. Every noon or evening, under the banyan tree in the village, before the broadcast and in the house, people are listening attentively. I almost doubt that the idiom "an empty street" came into being in this way; Walking in the field, walking on the path, riding a bike, and even riding on the back of a cow are all hung with radios, for fear of missing the best time of the day …
Uncle Kai's unique ancient voice is the most powerful summons, saying, "If you continue the previous book, the noise around you will immediately subside;" End of sentence: Ladies and gentlemen, what about the funeral? Listen to the next decomposition. The surrounding area began to boil, and people's ancient addiction was pulled up. Like Yang, they couldn't wait to stir up the sunset with long guns so that they could enter immediately the next day. Listening to the ancients for half an hour was the most beautiful half an hour at that time. People have worked hard for half a day, and it's wonderful to get a deep relaxation in this short time …
Anyway, I can't finish talking about Uncle Kai for three days and nights. A senior in Guangdong commented on Uncle Kai: "This kind of voice should only be heard in the sky. How many times can it be heard on the earth?" It was this versatile artist from South Guangdong who left us forever in 1997. I was working in a small town in Foshan. At 6: 30, after listening to the story of Uncle Kai broadcast by City Star, I was uncharacteristically unwilling to broadcast advertisements. The host said in a low voice, "A national first-class actor, a famous performing artist, a master of telling the past ..." At this time, my heart was shocked. At that time, there were only two masters who told the past. I don't want any except Uncle Kai and Mr. Lin Zhaoming. Later, I told him it was Mr. Zhang Yuekai. I bought the Yangcheng Evening News and collected it in memory of Uncle Kai.
Only this article remembers the beloved ancient storyteller-Mr. Zhang Yuekai.
Zhang Yuekai, the late Guangdong storyteller, personally thinks that no storyteller can surpass him for the time being, and no storyteller can reach his level in intonation, articulation, speech speed and voice change. Unfortunately, after Mr. Wang's death, the people who took over failed to master the essence of Cantonese telling the ancient times, and Mr. Zhang left few disciples. In addition, Cantonese culture was marginalized a few years ago, but thanks to the continuous efforts of a group of people who defended Cantonese, it was preserved. Now, from primary school students, we have been trained to speak the ancients in Cantonese. Every child is different, but the style of the corresponding teacher is somewhat similar. I hope it can bring different effects and not be too artificial.
When it comes to Cantonese storytelling master, I only know Zhang Yuekai, and others can only be ranked behind him. Zhang Yuekai is an actor of Cantonese Opera Troupe, who has played many important roles, the most memorable of which is the Ice Prince in Seventy-two Tenants. Besides acting in drama, Zhang Yuekai often talks about ancient children (that is, storytelling in the north) on Guangdong Radio. From Sunny Days, Boiling Mountains and Cotai Strip in 1970s to Li Zicheng, the actor of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin and Yang Jiajiang in 1980s. It can be said that the ancient dolls in Zhang Yuekai are the memories of our childhood. Zhang Yuekai has a good voice, but plastic has strong fire resistance: he can imitate different voices: old people's, children's, young people's and women's. Especially imitating the voices of different women, gentle, like Pan Jinlian's affectionate speech to Song Wu; There are bad words, like Pan Jinlian's bad words against Wu Dalang; There is a crisp and neat tone, like the heroic dry cloud of broadsword Wang Lanying; And those who show perseverance in tenderness, such as Li Zicheng's wife Gao, are so vividly portrayed that people can't tell whether they are the characters in the novel. When I was a child, it was very desirable and pleasant to go home from school and listen to Zhang Yuekai's stories. Unfortunately, due to illness, Zhang Yuekai left us at the age of 72, and no new works came out. However, radio stations still broadcast Zhang Yuekai's past works from time to time to commemorate this ancient Guangdong storyteller. As people who grew up listening to Zhang Yuekai's ancient stories, we have a fresh memory of Zhang Yuekai's story and will always remember it.
In the 1980s, every day at noon 12, at 6 pm, we all gathered around the transistor radio, listening to ancient children while eating, including the Water Margin, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Lin Zhaoming's Journey to the West and the History of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty by Uncle Kai. I think Uncle Kai is recognized as the first and Uncle Ming is the second. Because Cantonese is relatively old, Uncle Kai's works are many and prolific, and their contents are very consistent with the original works. If you listen to Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Water Margin, you can watch and listen to the original version, and it is standard Cantonese.
Uncle Kai graduated from the Civil Engineering Department of the University in his early years, but he likes literature and performing arts because he came to Hong Kong. Very popular, so everyone likes to listen to stories, which have local characteristics, so they are deeply rooted in people's hearts and have been listening for generations.
Lin Zhaoming.
In fact, before Zhang Helin (or before the Cultural Revolution), there were many famous storytellers in Guangzhou, such as Li Minghe Hu.
It's just that these people were interrupted during the Cultural Revolution. In the late period of the Cultural Revolution, Hu was invited by some schools to talk about it. But because of the political environment at that time, he could only tell some revolutionary stories. Besides, Hu is a big old man.
In fact, Zhang Yuekai studied architecture at first. There is a small bridge on Hainan Island, which was designed by Zhang Yuekai. Later, he entered the development of Cantonese opera and Quyi. His most famous job is to be a tenant of seven or two families. Later, he developed crosstalk into Cantonese phonology, and then he talked about ancient times. Zhang Yuekai was very strict about ancient times. He checked all relevant information in advance and made it clear where the ancient times corresponded to the present.
Another storyteller, Lin Zhaoming, is Zhang Yuekai's good partner in drama, folk art and cross talk. His storytelling style is different from Zhang Yuekai's, one is rigorous and the other is humorous. It was a close call. Therefore, if you must put Zhang Yuekai in the second place, then Lin Zhaoming is the only one.
Uncle Kai's Three Kingdoms, listen to sleep every night! Lin Zhaoming's two travel notes are humorous, and the names of the characters are rarely missed. Liang Jinhui said that Jin Yong was the best. He spoke quickly and vividly. Li tells the best about Gu Long, and his legendary series has also become a masterpiece, but most of the legendary stories are similar and meaningless, and ghost stories are the most appropriate, vivid and interesting, and eclectic. Lin Jin's masterpiece is the best, but I don't like Lin Jin's laughter. It feels so fake.
