This country is Ukraine. Because of economic problems, the Soviet Union finally had to disintegrate, so after the disintegration, the economies of Soviet countries suffered heavy losses and fell sharply. Therefore, after the disintegration of the Soviet Union, in order to develop the country, the Soviet Union joined the United States, basically hoping to rely on the West and get rich together with the West. The only difference is that in action, some countries have acted and some have not.
The most typical countries of action, such as Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia, are relatives of the West, and their geographical location is very important. So after the disintegration of the Soviet Union, they quickly joined the West, the European Union and NATO. Moreover, soon the economic development was far ahead, becoming the three most developed countries in the Soviet system. So watching the three Baltic countries develop one by one and get rich makes other Soviet countries jealous and want to join.
Especially in Eastern Europe, Ukraine, as one of the three Slavic countries, is of the same ancestry as Russia, with a vast territory and a large population. Originally, it was a very important country, but because the geographical location was not important, and the west was always uneasy about Ukraine, it always felt like a spy. Therefore, Ukraine has always wanted to join the West, but the West has been afraid to directly refuse, and Ukraine must also show sincerity. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Ukraine's purpose and goal has always been to join the West and live a good life. Therefore, in order to show sincerity, Ukraine has done three things.
First, voluntarily give up nuclear weapons.
More than 1400 nuclear weapons distributed by the Soviet Union were all destroyed, and many of them were directly returned to Russia.
Second, constantly give up the military industry.
After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Ukraine inherited thousands of military industries, from fighters, warships and aircraft carriers to engines and tanks. But there is a problem. Ukraine's military industry is connected with Russia in system, which is completely different from the western system. Therefore, if you can't continue to raise it, it will have no effect. Just tear down most of it or transfer it to private enterprises.
The third is to dismantle weapons.
In order to further reduce the threat, some core weapons of Ukraine, such as aircraft carriers, were dismantled or sold. This is when China bought Varyag, and it only cost $20 million. The purpose of doing these three things in Ukraine is actually very simple, that is, I have no ambition and no danger in Ukraine, and I can accept it at will, that is, I am naked in front of the West and waiting to be accepted by the West.
The west didn't want Ukraine in the first place. Ukraine is naked, let alone naked. Moreover, not only unwilling, but also constantly fooling Ukraine and controlling foreigners. It probably means that if Ukraine rashly shoots, the consequences will be borne by the West, just like scaring children. So Ukraine began to go to war with its big brother Russia, and finally a direct conflict broke out in Ukraine.
When Russia does this, the west will be timid, because they can't go to the superpower Russia for Ukraine. So the most pitiful scene appeared. Ukraine was beaten by Russia because of betrayal, and the west continued to add fuel to the flames, making the contradiction even bigger. As a result, the armed conflict has become more serious, with greater casualties. Up to now, Crimea is gone, and even the eastern region is almost gone.
Moreover, because of the long-term war, the whole country has become the poorest country in Europe and even in the world, with a per capita GDP of less than 2,000 US dollars, which is lower than Moldova. It is already the most miserable country in the whole Soviet system, and there is no one. It's all about joining the West, and the consequences of betraying your brother are tragic!
