Michael apted and paul almond filmed their first documentary series from 1964, interviewing 14 seven-year-old children from different classes in Britain, some from orphanages and some from the upper class. After that, every seven years, Apter will interview these children again, listen to their dreams and talk about their lives. Forty-nine years old, I know my destiny, see through the passage of time and the vicissitudes of life. This film combines interviews with interviewees aged seven, fourteen, twenty-one, twenty-eight, thirty-five, forty-two, forty-nine, fifty-six and sixty-three.
