According to legend, Yi was abandoned by his parents in the mountains when he was five years old. He grew up in the mountains and learned a skill. He was best at archery. Later, he became an archer and was sealed by Emperor Yao in Shangqiu, Henan.
In the era when Yao proclaimed himself emperor, ten suns appeared in the sky at the same time. The appearance of these ten suns dried up rivers, withered crops, and people were so hot that they fell unconscious on the ground. Moreover, because it is too hot, all the beasts in the forbidden area ran out, and they also ran out from the dry rivers and lakes and the flaming forests, killing people everywhere. Yao had to ask Otsuka to shoot down the nine suns in the sky with the skill of marksman, and the story of Otsuka shooting at the sun was praised by later generations.
However, in the process of later generations praising the story of shooting at the sun with great righteousness, people gradually confused the name of Hou Yi, the monarch of Xia Dynasty, with great righteousness.
Hou Yi was from the period of Xia Taikang, and his wife was Fu Fei, that is, Luo Shen (Fuxi's youngest daughter). He is also good at shooting, but he shot not Japanese but Hebo (Zhuangzi Autumn Water). Because Hou Yi, the monarch of Xia Dynasty, was also good at archery, people gradually confused his name with his deeds.
So it can be said that Da Yi and Hou Yi are not the same person. In fairy tales, the hero who shoots the sun is called Da Yi, and Hou Yi is the monarch who is good at archery in Xia Dynasty.
But two people are related by blood. They all belong to poor families, and the sense of justice appeared earlier than Houyi, so the sense of justice belongs to Houyi's ancestors.
