Ningjiang district has a long history. The bronze cultural site of Changgangzi in Bodun and the site of Liaojin ancient city are well preserved, and a large number of Ming and Qing porcelains have been unearthed, which proves the blood relationship between Ningjiang history and culture and Central Plains history and culture.

According to historical records, in the Western Han Dynasty, it was the territory of Fuyu State, the first ethnic and tribal country in Northeast China established by our ancestors.

Ningjiang County was established in Liao Dynasty, hence the name of Ningjiang in this area.

Jin Dynasty belongs to Huining County of Huining Prefecture and Lishe County of Longzhou Prefecture.

In the late Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Zuo Wei of Nuzhen Tashan and Horqin Mongolian successively.

After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC) in the late Jin Dynasty, it was again under the jurisdiction of Manchu (the descendants of Jurchen), and the loyalist was called Bodun Station here, which was later called the birthplace of Manchu.
