What is the history of He Zhiqiao?
There are 39 stone bridges in Fengjing, the most distinctive of which is Hezhi Bridge, which is known as "the temple connects the bridge and there is a temple in the bridge". Fengjing people call it "lovers bridge" (explaining the story of lovers bridge). Hezhi Bridge is located in the middle of the river in the north-south direction of Fengjing Town. It was built in He Zhi period of Yuan Dynasty, hence its name. It is the oldest existing bridge in Fengjing and a witness to the historical development of Fengjing. In Qing Dynasty, Shen Rongcheng wrote a poem about the Spring Festival in Fengjing Town in Fengxi Zhi Zhu Ci. The word says, "People are getting more and more on New Year's Day, and the bridge is beaming. Poor children prefer to put pigs, and young children often carry lanterns. " The Guanyin statue at the bridge head of Hezhi Bridge is lifelike. "Buddhas have good friends when crossing the bridge, and children send good people", which vividly explains the humanistic and historical landscape of He Zhiqiao's "temples are connected with the bridge and temples are in the bridge". Visitors can burn incense and pray here. The method of seeking children here is different from other temples, and it is particularly effective. Also, it is said by the older generation that washing hands with water from the nearby Seven Star Well can have many effects. If you want something, you can also burn incense and pray here.
