The Historical Evolution of Siping Town
Siping Town has a long history of humanity. As early as July of 193 1, the Red Second Army led by He Long established the Soviet government in Siping District at the mouth of Siping River. On the eve of liberation, Siping was the township, governed by 19 Bao, and 1949 established Siping District. 1950 was changed to the tenth district of Baokang County, which governed 2 1 small townships, and the small townships of 1956 were merged into 6 large townships and divided into 62 primary cooperatives. 1958 is divided into two communes, Taikou and Siping, with 49 brigades; 1963, two societies merged into Siping District. 1975 area was revoked and merged into Siping people's commune. 1984 abolish people's communes, restore the regional administrative system, and set up six township people's governments. 1September, 1987, institutional reform was carried out, districts were withdrawn and towns were built, and Siping Town People's Government was established. At that time, it had jurisdiction over 6 administrative districts and 42 villages. By April 2002, according to the requirements of institutional reform, administrative districts were abolished and villages were merged. After that, the whole town administered 26 administrative villages, 144 villagers' groups, 77 12 households and 287 18 people.
