Haizhu District covers an area of 90.4 square kilometers.

Haizhu district is one of the old four districts in Guangzhou, which was called Jiangnan Zhou in ancient times. It is located in the south of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, with a total population of 877,000.

Haizhu District, known as "Jiangnan Week" in ancient times, is located in the middle of Guangzhou, surrounded by the front and back waterways of the Guangzhou section of the Pearl River system, and is a natural fertile soil surrounded by water. Haizhu District is a green island with beautiful scenery and pleasant climate, and is known as the "south lung" of Guangzhou.

Haizhu District has a unique geographical and cultural environment and is the only island area in Guangzhou. It faces Liwan, Yuexiu, Tianhe, Huangpu and Panyu across the river, with a coastline of 47.35 kilometers. The geographical position is superior, the land resources are abundant, and the scenic area of water network and fruit forest is large, showing the pattern of "landscape city" Haizhu District has a long history, outstanding people and outstanding cultural relics, and its history is relatively accurate, dating back to the Eastern Han Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago.

Terrain:

Haizhu District is located in the northern alluvial plain of the Pearl River Delta, and its north and south are adjacent to the front and rear navigation channels of the Guangzhou reach of the Pearl River respectively. The overall topography is high in the north and low in the south, and the landform types can be divided into three types: low hills, platforms and plains, with the delta plain as the main one.

The northern part is a series of slightly undulating hills from west to east, generally about 50 meters above sea level, and the highest Shengtanggang is 54.3 meters above sea level; The platform is divided into two levels, the first level is about 40 meters above sea level, and the other level is about 20 meters above sea level. The south and east are sandbar plains alluvial by rivers and seas, with dense river networks, generally below the altitude of10m. There are many weathered denudation, wave erosion or accumulation relics in the area, such as Qixinggang marine erosion relics, Qixinggang Danxia landform, Qixinggang "scale stone" landform, Songgang, Chisha sandbank, Chigang Taoou Cave Group and so on.
