Where is the Yongle Grand Ceremony now kept?
The remnant stars of the ceremony are scattered in the hands of public and private collectors all over the world. At present, about 400 volumes are distributed in more than 30 units in 10 countries. Units include: National Library of China, Shanghai Library, Sichuan University Library, Taiwan Province Provincial Central Library, Taiwan Institute of History and Linguistics, Japanese National Assembly Library, Japan Oriental Library, School of Humanities of Kyoto University, Japan Affiliated Library of Kyoto University, Japan Lisan Library, Japan Jingpeitang Library, Japan Stowe Wenxun, Japan Osaka Prefectural Library, Japan Takeda Qiaobei, Japan Ishiguro, Japan Nana Ogawa, Japan British Library, Oxford University Library, Oriental Language Institute of London University, Cambridge University, Madden University, Hamburg University Library, Cologne University Library, Berlin Ethnography Museum, Library of Congress, Harvard University Library, Cornell University, Boston Library, French Far East Institute in Hanoi, Vietnam, and Li Wangzhi Library in Korea. The National Library of China has a collection of 22 1 volume (including the existing 60 volumes of the National Palace Museum in Taipei), ranking first in the world.
