How does a Cisco router view historical commands?
Set the number of history caches.

Change the number of current terminal session history caches:

Terminal History [Line Size]

Terminal number history [dimension lines] is set to the default value 10.

Example:

Router # Terminal History Size 20

Router # terminal has no history size of 20.

Change the number of all session history caches:

History [line size]

No history [line size]

Example:

Router (Configuration) # Line Configuration 0

Router (Configuration Line) # History Size 20

Router (Configuration Line) # No Historical Size 20

Router (Configuration Line) #end

Call history command

Call the last command: press Ctrl-P or the up arrow key.

Call the next command: press Ctrl-N or the down arrow key.

List the commands in the cache: Show History

Router # displays history

(constituting a verb) means "to put in a state of ..."
