history

Italy's first international match was against France in May 19 10 in Milan. 1930 Since the World Cup, Italy 1934, 1938 have defended their titles, and 1982 has regained the long-lost champion. The 1934 meeting was hosted by Italy. At that time, Italy beat the Czech Republic 2-/kloc-0-0 in overtime. 1938 The World Cup was hosted by France, when Italy defeated Hungary 4-2 and successfully defended its title. So far, only Italy and Brazil have successfully defended their World Cup titles.

After World War II, Italian football suffered heavy losses in the war. Then at 1949, the then Turin team was on the way back from playing football in Spain, but unfortunately the plane crashed and the whole Turin team was killed in the accident. At that time, the Italian national team was based in Turin. After such a blow, the Italian national team was badly weakened and could not return to its previous level. At 1950, 1954, 1962, 1966, the first lap was eliminated, and 1958 failed to advance to the last week. In the group match of 1966 World Cup, North Korea beat Italy with 1-0.

1968, Italy won the European Nations Cup, which was the first time since Italy won the World Cup in 1938. Italy was in Rome at that time, and the final opponent was Yugoslavia. The final result was 2-0. Two years later, Italy successfully advanced to the 1970 World Cup, and the host country was Mexico (the first World Cup held by North American countries). At that time, Italy fought hard in the semi-final and won 4-3 in extra time in West Germany, and entered the final. The opponent was Brazil (1958 and 1962), which had already won two World Cups. In the end, Italy was defeated by 4: 1 and only won the runner-up.

1978 World Cup, Italy won the first place. Four years later, in 1982, Italy beat Argentina 2-1,Brazil 3-2, Poland 2-0 in the semi-final, and West Germany 3-1in the final to win the championship. The leading role of this year is Rosie.

In the last fifteen years, although Italy has not won any championship, its achievements are remarkable. 1990 in the semi-final of the world cup, Italy lost to Argentina 3-0 in the penalty shootout, and finally defeated England 2-0-0 in the third and fourth finals, and won the third place. The sharpshooter was Shirachi, who scored six goals. In the 1994 World Cup final, Italy lost the championship 2-3 on penalties. 1998 World Cup quarter-finals were eliminated by France. In the 2002 World Cup, Italy was defeated by South Korea in 16.

1998 European nations cup, Italy reached the semi-finals, and finally lost 0-2 to the former Soviet Union, which had an absolute advantage in physical strength. 1996 European cup national team, Italy was eliminated from the group stage. In the 2000 European Cup of Nations, Italy eliminated the Netherlands in the semi-final, and the Italian opponent who advanced to the final was France. The two teams scored 1: 1 within the specified time (90 minutes), and the French team that finally performed well was-{zh-cn: David Trezeguet; Zh-hk:David Chasgut }- 103 minutes won the championship, while Italy only unfortunately won the runner-up. In the 2004 European Cup of Nations, Italy was eliminated in the group stage because of the result.

Successive national team coach

Vittorio Pozzo (1929 ~ 1948)

There is no doubt that Pozzo is the most successful coach of all Italian national teams. Under his coaching, Italy won the World Cup twice in' 34 and' 38. It turned out that in 19 12, Bozo, who was only 26 years old at that time, became the head coach of the Italian national team, and also maintained the record of the youngest head coach of the Italian national team, but that time was quite short. Pozzo officially became the head coach of Italy on 1929. And led the Italian team to win the World Cup with 1934 and 1938.

During Bozo's post 10 (1929 ~ 1939), Italy not only won two World Cups, but also won the men's soccer gold medal in the 1936 Olympic Games. And achieved 53 wins 16 draws and 8 losses. After Italy won the 38-year World Cup, Italy, which had already completed the alternation of the old and the new, became weak because of the outbreak of the Second World War. Otherwise, Pozzo will create better results.

After the war, Pozzo returned to the position of Italian coach, but due to the destruction of the war and the air crashes in Su Pei and Turin, the strength of Italian football is not what it used to be. Being defeated by England 4-0 in Florence became Pozzo's swan song in Italy.

Alfredo foni (1954 ~ 1958)

As a player, Fournies was a famous defender of Juventus and Italy in 1930s, and won the 1938 World Cup. Forni was also the last captain of Juventus before the war. After becoming a coach, Forney led Inter Milan to win the Serie A titles of 1953 and 1954. 1954 After the fiasco of the World Cup, forni became the Italian coach, but his performance was not outstanding. 1958 world cup qualifiers play-offs, Italy 1: 2 lost to northern Ireland, and the qualifiers were eliminated. Forni also resigned as head coach of the national team after the game.

Viani (1960)

Viani coached AC Milan before becoming the national team coach. During his coaching at AC Milan, he won several league titles and reached the final in the 1958 Champions League. In the end, it lost to Real Madrid at the peak of overtime 2: 3. But he didn't enter the national team for long, basically he took office in a hurry, and then he stepped down in a hurry. I only coached a few games.

Giovanni Ferrari (196 1 year ~ 1962)

As a player, he was a famous Italian star in 1930s, and won eight Serie A titles (Juventus five times, Inter Milan twice, Bologna 1), and 1934 World Cup and 1938 World Cup. 196 1, replaced Viani as the head coach of Italy, but in the 1962 World Cup, he was eliminated from the Italian group match and resigned as the head coach of the national team.

Edmondo Fabbri (1962 ~ 1966)

He used to be the head coach of the Italian youth team and became the head coach of the national team after the 1962 World Cup. However, after Italy lost to North Korea in the 1966 World Cup, he resigned as the head coach of the national team.

Herrera (1966)

1966 after Italy's defeat in the World Cup, the Italian Football Association is going to hire Herrera as the head coach of the Italian team. This is also the first foreign coach in Italian history. However, due to Herrera's busy affairs at Inter Milan, he basically made a name for the national team, which was actually operated by valcareggi.

Herrera, an Argentine, is also the founder of Italian football defensive counterattack and reinforced concrete defense in the future. During his stay at Inter Milan, Herrera won the Champions League with his tactics 1964 and 1965. Valcareggi's tactics in Italy basically follow Herrera's thought.

Valcareggi (1966 ~ 1974).

When the Italian Football Association hired Herrera as the head coach of the Italian team, valcareggi appeared as an assistant coach. However, due to Herrera's busy affairs at Inter Milan, the national team is basically under the command of valcareggi. During valcareggi's tenure, he completely followed Herrera's defensive counterattack tactics, which made the later "chain defense" and "quick counterattack" become the characteristics of the Italian national team.

Valcareggi won the European Cup with 1968 and the World Cup runner-up with 1970 during his tenure as Italian head coach. He was also the best coach who led Italy after World War II. And beat England at Wembley Stadium 1973, rewriting Italy's disadvantage against England. However, in the 1974 World Cup, after the Italian group match was eliminated, valcareggi left the position of national team coach.

Bernard Bernardini (1974 ~ 1977)

The golden age of coach Bernan Tini was in the 1950s. During his coaching in Florence, Bernan Tini won the 1956 Serie A championship and achieved an impressive record of 40 unbeaten games (this unbeaten record was later broken by AC Milan coached by Capello with 58 unbeaten games). And led Florence 1957 Champions League final, becoming the first Serie A team to reach the final. After that, he led the team to win the last league title in the history of the team in Bologna and became a famous Italian meritorious coach. Bo Nantini didn't coach the national team for a long time and didn't make any achievements. Later, due to physical reasons, he left his post in the 1978 World Cup qualifiers and was succeeded by former youth team coach Belzeaux.

Enzo Belzeaux (1977 ~ 1986)

Originally the head coach of the Italian youth team, Bernan Tini left the national team for physical reasons, and Belzeaux became the successor. And led the national team to participate in the 1978 World Cup. Under the command of Belzeaux, Italy is the youngest team in the World Cup and the best team at the same time. However, due to lack of experience, I lost to the Netherlands and Brazil and only got the fourth place. However, in the 1982 World Cup, Belzeaux led Italy to win the World Cup by successively defeating popular Argentina, Brazil, Poland and the Federal Republic of Germany.

In addition to the World Cup champion, Belzeaux won the fourth place in the 1980 European Cup. He is also the only Italian national team coach who won the World Cup after the war. 1986 After the World Cup, he left the position of head coach of the national team. Vicini, head coach of the youth team, also took over the post.
