The four car companies merged into auto union ag on 1933. After World War II, the automobile factory of Saxony Automobile Union was confiscated and demolished by the former Soviet occupation forces. Since then, many senior executives of the company have gone to Bavaria, and in 1949, auto union gmbh was established in ingolstadt, Ingall. This company inherited the tradition of the old automobile alliance and is still marked by four chain stores.
