1, Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra
As the core of Mahayana Prajna Sutra, although it has only more than 200 words, its meaning is extremely profound. Based on the concept of "everything is empty", it leads to twelve causes, such as four noble truths of suffering, thinking about five righteousness, ignorance and old age.
The Heart Sutra is widely spread among Mahayana Buddhists in the Han Dynasty, and it is also a classic often read in temple ceremonies. There are many monks and lay disciples who specialize in the study of the Heart Sutra, and their spiritual achievements are really amazing.
2. Shurangama Sutra
Shurangama Sutra occupies an important position in Buddhism. As the saying goes, "The Shurangama Sutra was destroyed first in the last Dharma era". As long as Shupo world recites the Shurangama Sutra, heretics can't destroy the Dharma.
The Shurangama Sutra is a treasure house to help the disciples of the last Dharma overcome their karma, and it is almost foreseen in many chaotic sutras of Buddhism at present. Moreover, the opening words of the Buddha in the Buddhist scriptures are extremely delicate, and the Buddhist teachings are thoroughly and clearly explained, which is very suitable for our beginners to read.
3. Hua Yanjing
Sakyamuni Buddha is by the Nyirenchan River, and the Bodhi tree sees the stars and realizes the Tao. After that, he swam the Ganges, and it is said that he swam more than 300 times. Hua Yan Jing is the first sutra that Sakyamuni said after becoming a Buddha, which is very suitable for the good thoughts of Bodhisattva.
The light of Buddhism is like the sun. Buddha has just become a monk, just like the sun was born and just started to learn Buddhism. Those who have firm confidence are like standing on the top of the mountain watching the brilliant sun. People who can't have confidence in Buddhism are like people who live at the foot of the mountain, and they can't see the sun until later.
4. Amitabha Sutra, Infinite Life Sutra, and Infinite Life Sutra.
To learn the good faith of Pure Land Sect, we must read these three classics. The contents of the scriptures are all about the great victory and solemnity of Amitabha, the pure land of western bliss.
Of course, many people have heard of the expression "Pure Land Five Classics". Why does Lotus only list three classics? Because the Five Classics of Pure Land are these three classics, plus the chapter "The Great Trend to Buddha's Mind" in the Shurangama Sutra and the "Putuo Bodhisattva's Wish" in the Huayan Sutra mentioned earlier.
5. Tibetan scriptures
The full name of the Tibetan sutra is the original wish sutra of the Tibetan Bodhisattva, which is a famous filial piety sutra in Buddhism. Some of the scriptures mentioned above talk about practice and some talk about enlightenment. Reciting Tibetan scriptures will make you understand that cause and effect are not empty, and Buddhism is based on filial piety.
When the Buddha died, he warned his disciples to learn from precepts, which called filial piety and liberation. Therefore, in order to eliminate karma, accumulate merits and even achieve the supremacy of Buddhism and Taoism in the process of spiritual practice, this Tibetan Sutra must be read.
