Lingjiang is located in a typhoon-prone area. 1Typhoon 1 1 in 1997 caused tidal surges along the Lingjiang River, which caused the tidal level along the coast to exceed the highest in history, with the tidal level in Haimen reaching 7.5 meters. In 2004, Typhoon Yunna (14) caused the high tide level of Zhengte Wharf in Lingjiang River Basin to reach 6.85 meters.
Tidal current dominates the waters of Lingjiang River all the year round, and only when there is a big flood, the upstream flood discharge and tidal current combine. There are coastal and Haimen hydrological observation stations in the waters. Tidal waves in Taizhou Bay come from the East China Sea and are of irregular semidiurnal tide type. Due to topography, tidal wave deformation in estuaries and bay waters is obvious. When the water depth is less than the tidal range, the tidal wave deforms violently and approaches the standing wave. The tidal component in shallow water is obvious, and the tidal range between the estuary and the bay is large, which gradually increases from the mouth of the bay to the top of the bay. Tidal current Lingjiang River is tidal reach, Jiaojiang River is tidal reach, and tidal current belongs to irregular semidiurnal tidal current, mainly reciprocating current. Taizhou is located in the middle of Zhejiang coastal area, and the waves are mostly wind waves and mixed waves of wind waves and swells. Lingjiang River is located in Neijiang on the west side of Taizhou Bay, which is dominated by wind and waves under the action of local wind field.
