Peng Zu, located in pengshan county, Sichuan Province, is a provincial-level scenic spot (pengshan county was named after Pengzu Mountain), 45 kilometers away from downtown Chengdu. Pengzhou is located in the northwest of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, with east longitude103/kloc-0+00340+003 north latitude 30 54-31. Pengzhou, located at the junction of Longmen Mountain in western Sichuan and Chengdu Plain, has a long history. According to legend, Peng people lived and worked here more than 3,000 years ago, and then Shu people crossed the south plain of Minshan Mountain and merged with Peng people to create Suijiang culture together, making Pengzhou one of the earliest areas in Sichuan where ancient culture developed.

Pengzhou's name comes from Tianpengmen, which is located at the foot of Minjiang River.
