The origin of corrugated board
Corrugated board originated in England. 1856, Edward Charles Billy and Edward Alice Allen applied for and obtained the patent of corrugated board manufacturing technology, which marked the formal birth of corrugated board technology. However, unlike what is commonly used in transportation packaging now, the pit-shaped cardboard at that time was mainly used as a hat to absorb sweat. Corrugated board was really used as packaging material after 15 years.
187 1 year, Art L George of the United States took the lead in using pit-shaped paperless cardboard as cushioning material instead of grass and sawdust.
1874, Oliver Lunger of the United States developed corrugated cardboard with paper on it and began to use it to package bottles and cans.
At the same time, with the expansion of market demand and the remarkable progress of machinery manufacturing technology, the most primitive pit machine was manufactured around 1870.
1880 or so, people have successively designed paste machines and other corresponding equipment.
1895, the first single-sided machine was born. Due to the progress of paperboard manufacturing technology and the rapid expansion of market demand, cartons in the United States have gradually replaced wooden cases as the most important packaging containers.
