Wenzhou University is the only comprehensive university in southern Zhejiang, northern Fujian and eastern Jiangxi, a key construction university in Zhejiang Province, and a doctoral degree awarding unit. It is located in Wenzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China and a pioneer of reform and opening up.
The school was formed by the merger of Wenzhou Normal University and the former Wenzhou University in 2004, with a history of 90 years. Academician Gu Chaohao, winner of the highest national science and technology award, is the principal. Wenzhou University has formed a multi-level and multi-form school-running pattern, including undergraduate education, postgraduate education, continuing education, international student education and international cooperation education.
Subjects cover twelve categories, such as philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management, art and interdisciplinary subjects, and there are 20 professional colleges and honorary colleges-Su College.

The teaching staff is strong. The school has 223 1 staff, including full-time teachers 1 staff and full-time teachers1staff (939 doctors, accounting for 66.3 1%).
There are 33 national-level talents, including those selected by the National Ten Thousand Talents Program, those selected by the National Talent Introduction Program, Changjiang Scholars, National Jieqing, young and middle-aged experts who have made outstanding contributions to the country, national-level candidates for the National "Hundred Million Talents Project", national outstanding talents and "Four Groups" talents in Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China. At present, 180 high-level talents have been selected at or above the provincial level and have been approved as national talent introduction demonstration bases.
Major achievements have been made in discipline construction. The school has 1 authorized point for doctoral degree in first-class discipline, 18 authorized point for master degree in first-class discipline and 17 authorized point for master degree. Zhejiang postdoctoral workstation has been set up to jointly train doctors and postdocs with 24 well-known universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad.
