If good people are doomed to no good, should we still do it?
After so long, I watched a new debate.

Then I wrote the following.

It might be a little messy.

But I hope we all think #

If being a good person is doomed to no good end, should we still do it?

Consider a more extreme situation.

Suppose you help others wholeheartedly, but you can't get any good news in the sense of common sense, you can't get each other's thanks, you can't get each other's praise, and there are even rumors that you are fishing for fame and profit, and everyone avoids it. The only thing you can do seems to be to meditate in your mind. I was spurned and reviled, but I knew I was a good man. In this case, do you want to be a good person?

Maybe we will think, in that case, why should I be a good person? Whether mentally or materially, I can't be satisfied, but I will suffer more disgust and incomprehension.

At this time, some people may say that we are not doing this to get some good news, it is too utilitarian. We only do this to gain inner peace and comfort.

But under such circumstances, how can our hearts be calm? All I can receive is that the world is full of malice, and I can't get any positive feedback.

So will we be a bad person?

Don't! On the contrary, we should think about why we are obviously good people, but there is no good result, or we are troubled by others, misunderstood or even disgusted by others.

One possibility is-I think I am a good person myself.

This concept is very terrible. Just like we often hear people say "I did it for your own good". In their minds, they are good people, but in fact, this is not necessarily the case.

In order to make you have a good future, parents force you to choose a major that you are not interested in, for your own good. The electrocution of gay people was also for the good of those people. Even in Hitler's subjective consciousness, he may think he is a good man.

Many cruel atrocities in this world are committed in your own name.

There is another possibility-being in troubled times. Many people in troubled times, good or bad, have no good results.

But even so, we can't choose to be a villain-even if we don't be heroes and dare not make a real voice, we should be followers of heroes and don't be accomplices of bad guys-the evil of mediocrity will hinder the process of history.

So what kind of people are good people?

Some people may think that adhering to certain beliefs and orthodoxy, such as adhering to the teachings of sages, Confucius and Mencius, adhering to goodness and morality, is a good person.

However, this kind of thing, morality, has always been fluid, and it itself is produced and changed in the interaction between people. It should not be a dogma and tool that binds us, and not all persistence is meaningful and worthy of recognition. If this persistence is meaningless, it is stubbornness.

This is not really "good".

At the same time, I want to say, don't stick to the "good" baggage. If we live "goodness" as a belief and a gesture, it will lose its meaning, and it will become a vanity and a moral cleanliness.

You know, being an excellent ordinary person is more important than sticking to posture.

Besides, in fact, the concept of "good man" itself is very vague, which is a very secular evaluation. The so-called good man is nothing more than a person who can bring benefits to others or be widely recognized by society.

There are two examples, how to judge good or bad?

Cheng Ying-whether revenge is successful or not, he is not a good man. Success is to exchange your own children for the bad fathers of other people's children; Failure is a snob who betrays his master.

Changfeng, the father of the victim girl in The Wandering Blade, will not be a good person and will have a good result no matter what the revenge result is. Success is intentional homicide in violation of the law; If you fail, you can't understand the hatred of your daughter being humiliated to death and the "incompetent" father who is powerless in front of teenagers.

Good people are so hard to do, should they do it? What should I do?

The result is beyond doubt.

Or in the context of "if my behavior is good, but I don't get a good return".

Imagine this situation. I work hard and treat my work tirelessly. Is it not good to say that I am conscientious? Why do my colleagues treat me as an alien instead of walking with me, and say that I am in their way behind my back?

Besides, I am a very fair person. I don't want to go along with people who engage in hidden rules and pay bribes at work, so I choose to ignore them, so I report them. Is my behavior wrong? Are these dark behaviors worth promoting? However, it made me even less liked by others and heard more gossip.

This example looks stupid, but it is often the case. Let's look at Liu Siming in Ode to Joy. The meeting data went wrong again and again, which eventually led to karoshi and shock death.

We should think that sometimes it is not whether I am a good person, but whether I am a smart and good person with high emotional intelligence and high IQ.

It's not that you don't insist on being a good person, but that you don't insist on being a fool.
