In the 13th year of Tongzhi (1874), on October 21st, Emperor Tongzhi caught a cold while driving in Xiyuan. At first, he was just uncomfortable. After a day or two, my condition worsened and I was bedridden. All the doctors sent out a group consultation, but everyone held their own opinions and it was difficult to draw a conclusion. In fact, they have long understood that this is a more terrible disease than smallpox-syphilis.
There is no cure for this venereal disease, and it died miserably. Cixi ordered drugs to treat smallpox, and the flustered Tongzhi emperor shouted at his mother: "I didn't get smallpox at all, you deliberately killed me!" " The doctors are suspicious, but they dare not say more. They just acted according to the orders of Cixi.
In the 13th year of Tongzhi (1874), on the fifth day of December, the Tongzhi emperor collapsed in hall of mental cultivation, the palace.
