Introduction to Lizhuang Ancient Town "Lizhuang" is a thousand-year-old town with a history of 1400 years, and is known as "the first ancient town in the Yangtze River". Lizhuang Town, located on the south bank of the Yangtze River in Yibin, Sichuan, still retains its ancient architectural style, and the streets paved with bluestone slabs are dotted with residential buildings. Streets and alleys are built according to the tortuous terrain. The biggest feeling of walking in this ancient town is to enter the most unpretentious primitive town, and everything is so calm.
Lizhuang Ancient Town is about 20 kilometers away from Yibin. The ancient town is built by the river, and the buildings in the ancient town are basically well preserved, mostly in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. These houses seem to be built along the undulating streets. The path is sometimes narrow and sometimes the terrain rises, and several steps are paved to ease the gap. Large-scale buildings such as ancient halls, temples and ancestral halls have the most architectural characteristics of southern Sichuan in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Due to abundant rain and humid climate, most of the walls and eaves in the town are covered with moss.
Most houses are built of stone, and blue bricks are extensive extensions of walls and eaves. All kinds of time-honored shops built along the street are mostly attic-style wooden buildings with exquisite wood carving techniques and high artistic value. The most famous ancient town in Lizhuang is Xizi Lane. The buildings in the whole street seem to be wooden buildings, and the eaves on both sides almost block the whole street. There is only a narrow sky left, so Xizi Lane is called "the first sight". People here live a leisurely and peaceful life, and everything is so natural. It is precisely because of the original ecological life here that it has attracted the attention of many media, and many media are shooting documentaries here.
