Qingquan Town was founded in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, commonly known as Liaojiachang, and called Taiping Town in the early years of the Republic of China. 198 1 year later, it was renamed as qingquan town. Qingquan Town is the central town in the south of Qingbaijiang area in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and it is one of the key provincial pilot towns in Sichuan Province 120 approved by the provincial party committee and government. Qingquan Town is located in the eastern edge of Chengdu Plain, within the overall planning metropolitan area of Chengdu (East Fifth Ring Road), belonging to the sub-center of economic, social and cultural development in the whole region and the "Xanadu" of Chengdu. It is 8.4km away from Chengdu/kloc-0 in the west, 210.2km away from Dawan Town, where the district government is located, 7.5km away from Longquan National Ecological Agriculture Development Zone 12km away from Zhao Zhen Town of Jintang County in the east. Zhao Cheng Road (urban road) passes through the city, and there are many county-level highways such as Youchengtai Road, Qingshi Road, Qingyun Road and Ren Qing Road, forming a transportation network extending in all directions. In particular, Chengnan Road Expressway has an interchange overpass in the town, from which vehicles from Qingbaijiang, Jintang and Longquan can enter and exit the expressway, making Qingquan Town a hub of regional transportation. In 2009, Qingquan Avenue will be built, which will narrow the distance between Qingquan Town and qingbaijiang district. Chengdu has built or will build four expressways in Qingquan, namely Chengnan Expressway, Chengnan Expressway (from Chengdu to nanbu county), Chengdu Second Ring Expressway and Chengdu Second Airport Expressway. By then, Qingquan Town will become a transportation hub in eastern Chengdu.
