After the French emperor invaded Guangzhou Bay, Catholicism followed. 1900 French priest Lan Fan proposed to build a church while he was in charge of the educational administration in Zhanjiang, and the church funded it 1903. Masonry reinforced concrete structure, double-pointed stone tower, construction area of about 600 square meters, the hall can accommodate nearly dry people, was the largest Gothic church in South China at that time. 199 1 is listed as the key cultural relics protection unit of the city. Located at the intersection of Zhi Min Road and Yan 'an Road in xiashan district, Zhanjiang City, it was originally a French commercial bank. It was listed on 1926 and is the earliest bank in Zhanjiang. The interior wall is broad and solid, the decorative column in front of the door stands tall, and the wall is painted with stone rice, which has a magnificent appearance. It was the largest building in Zhanjiang at that time. When Zhanjiang was liberated, the Eastern Credit Union Bank was the main battlefield. In order to protect the building and reduce the losses of the surrounding people, the PLA tried not to use blasting equipment and made great sacrifices in hand-to-hand combat with entrenched enemies. The former site is now the business department of Zhanjiang Industrial and Commercial Bank.
