Historical Geography of Zhai Ying Ancient Town
Songtao Zhaiying Ancient Town, built during the Hongwu period of Ming Dynasty, is the largest and most well-preserved ancient architectural complex under Fanjing Mountain. Carving beams and painting buildings, cornices and corners are a combination of Miao architecture and Huizhou architecture. In 2006, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit. Songtaozhai Yinggunlong is also famous. It is a combination of various arts, both gentle and magnificent. In 2003, it was awarded the title of "Hometown of Chinese Folk Art" by the Ministry of Culture. In addition, Zhai Ying is the core mining area of "China Mengdu-Songtao" manganese mine.

Zhaiying Town is located in the southwest of Songtao Miao Autonomous County, at the southern foot of Fan Jing Mountain, a national nature reserve, 58km away from the county seat, 78km away from tongren city and 0/07km away from Daxing Airport. It is adjacent to Pujue Town in the east, Wuluo Town in the west, Mengqian Town in the north and Nuxi Township and Taiping Township in jiangkou county in the south. The town covers an area of 200.75 square kilometers, and the cultivated land area is 17542.7 mu, of which 12 142.478 mu. The terrain is high in the west and low in the east, with the highest elevation of1484m, the lowest elevation of 35 1 m, and the average elevation of 500-750m. It has jurisdiction over 23 villages, 2 neighborhood committees, 276 villagers' groups, 7,899 households and 37,500 people. It is a place where Han, Miao, Dong, Tujia, Gelao and other ethnic minorities live together.
