Yes Shanxi University, formerly known as Shanxi University Hall, was founded in 1902. After the Reform Movement of 1898 of 1898 and the Boxer Rebellion of 1900, in order to maintain its autocratic rule, the Qing Dynasty announced the so-called "New Deal" at the beginning of190/kloc-0, and the establishment of schools became a major part of education reform. At the beginning of 1902, Cen Chunxuan, the governor of Shanxi province, changed Tang De into Shanxi University Hall by imperial edict to receive students from Jinyang Academy and Lingdetang in Taiyuan at that time, and Shanxi University Hall was formally established.
