Overview of Miaoping Township
Shuhe River flows through the whole territory from the north side of the market town. The south bank of Shuhe River, the resident of the township government, is located in Aoping, and there is Niangniang Temple nearby, so it is named Miaoping Township. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Miaoping Township. Miaoping is a beautiful mountain city. Based on the agricultural economy, it vigorously develops the rich mineral resources, tobacco, sericulture and other leading industries with regional characteristics in the township. The township covers an area of 82.6 square kilometers, with the lowest elevation of 230 meters and the highest elevation of 1435 meters. It has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages, 33 villagers' groups, 2933 households, 10946 people, all of whom are Han nationality. The government is stationed in the second group of Gaoping Village.
