Sixian county has a long history. Established as early as Xia Dynasty, it is one of the important cradles of Sizhou Opera, a national intangible cultural heritage. There are natural and beautiful "Eight Scenes of Hongxiang", the ancient battlefield of Chu-Han dispute-Bawangcheng historic site, and the most complete Tongji Canal site in China during the Sui and Tang Dynasties.

June 20 13, Sixian section of the Sui and Tang Grand Canal was designated as a national cultural relics protection unit. On September 20 13, the canal successfully passed the on-site acceptance by UNESCO, and will become a famous brand of Sixian culture at home and abroad. In addition, the Su-Huai Railway, Si-Xu Expressway and Ming-Xu Expressway have been completed and opened to traffic, and Sixian County is ready for a new round of economic development.

In the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), Sixian county government began to set up the third subject, which was also in charge of cultural affairs.

During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Sixian National Government and the Japanese Puppet County Government were both in charge of the third culture. The anti-Japanese democratic governments in Silingsui, Siwulingfeng, Sinan and Sisu counties have set up cultural departments in charge of cultural work.

During the war of liberation, the democratic government still took literature, art, education and science as the cultural departments.

After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the county people's government set up an art education department. 1956, culture and education are divided into two subjects, and the Cultural Department is in charge of the county's cultural work. 1In July, 957, the cultural and educational department was abolished and Sixian Cultural and Educational Bureau was established. In the early days of the "Cultural Revolution", the Bureau of Culture and Education was once paralyzed. From 65438 to 0968, culture and education were managed separately, and cultural work was led by the Propaganda Group of the Political Work Group of Sixian Revolutionary Committee. 197 1 year1year1October 24th, the Cultural Bureau of Sixian Revolutionary Committee was established. On March 1982, the Cultural Bureau of Sixian Revolutionary Committee was renamed Sixian Cultural Bureau. [ 14]

Deng Yu (1337 ~ 1377) was a founding star of the Ming Dynasty. Word, Hong (now Sixian County, Anhui Province) was born. Seal the duke of Wei and chase the king of ninghe.

Hu Dahai (? -1362) was born in Zhouhong (now Sixian County, Anhui Province) and was a founding hero of the Ming Dynasty.

Han Cheng (? -1363), born in Hongxian (now Sixian, Anhui). Starting from Ming Taizu, he led the charge, attacked the Chu River and Kesi, destroyed the shanzhai, and took Jinling, with outstanding achievements.

Feng Kaiping, a famous writer, published many novels with Love in the Village as his masterpiece.
