Sixian county has a long history. Established as early as Xia Dynasty, it is one of the important cradles of Sizhou Opera, a national intangible cultural heritage. There are natural and beautiful "Eight Scenes of Hongxiang", the ancient battlefield of Chu-Han dispute-Bawangcheng historic site, and the most complete Tongji Canal site in China during the Sui and Tang Dynasties.
