After nearly a month of fierce fighting, about173,000 people of Guangxi Bai Chongxi Group were annihilated and about157,000 people were captured. 1950 In February, the People's Government of Guangxi Province was established in Nanning, and Zhang, then the second secretary of the Central South Branch, became the first person in charge of Guangxi. Let's follow the footsteps of history and relive the glorious course of General Zhang.

1892, 10 In August, a general star was born in Shangliao Village, Wenchang County, northeast of Hainan Island. Zhang was born in a poor peasant family and lived as a landlord for generations. Zhang is the eldest son of the Zhang family and has been doing housework with his parents since childhood. After he went to primary school, he studied hard and did some housework in his spare time.

After graduating from primary school, due to poverty, Zhang was forced to drop out of school and did not continue his studies. Later, with the help of his fourth uncle, Zhang worked as a handyman for young officer Zhao, carrying water, cooking and cleaning from morning till night every day. 1908, enrollment of Guangzhou Huangpu Army Primary School. Zhao encouraged Zhang to apply for the exam, but Zhang did not live up to expectations and was admitted with excellent results.

In Huangpu Army Primary School, Zhang not only received necessary military training, but also learned Chinese, mathematics, army etiquette and other knowledge. Although life in the military academy is hard, compared with Zhang's poor family, life here is already very good, and every time I take the exam, I can get the school bonus to subsidize my family. At the same time, Zhang also came into contact with many progressive books, and he deeply agreed with the contents of these books, so he secretly joined the China League, determined to find the light.

After becoming a member of the League, Zhang followed Sun Yat-sen, Huang Xing and others to participate in the famous Guangzhou New Army Uprising, Huanghuagang Uprising and Xinhai Revolution. However, the fruits of the revolution were stolen by Yuan Shikai, and Zhang joined the army against Yuan Shikai. After Yuan Shikai's death, the warlord regime and disputes began again, and Zhang was lost in thought. However, just when he was at the end of his tether, China was founded, which rekindled his revolutionary spirit.

1911On April 27th, the revolutionaries launched the 10 armed uprising in Guangzhou, which was the famous Huanghuagang uprising. Huang Xing, one of the * * * of the uprising team, led the death squads into the Governor's Office of Guangdong and Guangxi, and started street fighting with the Qing army. Zhang is also a member of this death squad. He waved a broadsword and fought bloody battles with the Qing army to the end. Eventually the rebels were outnumbered. Under the siege of many Qing armies, the Huanghuagang Uprising ended in the failure of the rebel army.

After the failure of the uprising, in order to escape the encirclement and suppression of the Qing army, Zhang and several comrades disguised themselves and hid in a residential building. The next morning, I went shopping with a vegetable basket and asked for information in the name of buying food. However, when he returned, he found that the house was surrounded by the Qing army, which shot and killed his comrades hiding in the house. Later, the bodies were gathered and 72 bodies were found, which were called "Seventy-two Martyrs in Huanghuagang" in history. Zhang therefore escaped, and later he said humorously: If he hadn't gone out to buy food, he would have become the seventy-third martyr of Huanghuagang.

After the liberation of Guangxi, Zhang became the first governor of Guangxi and became the first person in charge of Guangxi. After the liberation of Guangxi, the society was in chaos, everything was in ruins, and bandits were rampant. In order to maintain social order and ensure the safety of people's lives and property, after Zhang took charge of Guangxi, he quickly established the Military Management Committee to eliminate the remnants of the Kuomintang, suppress counter-revolutionary activities and stabilize social order.

1On September 27th, 955, General Zhang was awarded the rank of general. Among the ten founding generals, Zhang is the oldest, about 10 years older than many generals, and he is considered a veteran. In fact, Zhang's length of military service and his qualifications before joining the Party can be compared with those of founding marshals such as Mr. Zhu, Liu Bocheng and He Long.

General Zhang is just one of the shining generals in the China People's Liberation Army. He made great contributions to the construction of new China. They all appeared in the revolutionary war in China and many important historical events in the national defense construction in New China. From these founding generals, we can learn a lot, and at the same time enhance our national self-esteem and cohesion.
