The history of Teng surname
Teng's surname is the same as Teng's, and there are two sources:

1, from the surname Ji, is a descendant of Yes, and is one of the twelve surnames of the descendants of the Chinese people. According to the genealogy of ten thousand surnames, among the twenty-five sons of the Yellow Emperor, twelve surnames were given respectively, including Teng. This is the earliest Teng surname. Tengzhou has a long history. 7200 years ago, the northern new ancestors of Dongyi tribe lived on this land (there is a site of "Northern New Culture" in the territory) and became one of the oldest birthplaces of Chinese civilization. Four thousand years ago, in the legendary era of the Yellow Emperor, Sima Qian said in Historical Records: "The Yellow Emperor had 25 sons, of whom 14 all had their own surnames." According to Guoyu, the fifth name among the twelve surnames of the son of the Yellow Emperor is Teng. The word "Teng" was once a "ridge" in ancient times, that is, a field ridge. Because Teng and Ling are homophonic, the word "Ling" is taken as "Teng" in ancient Chinese, which means that spring water is surging, which also shows that Tengzhou has been a fertile land with rich water plants and vast land since ancient times.

2. It comes from the surname of Ji, and it is the fourteenth summary of the Western Zhou Dynasty, taking the country name as the surname. According to the records of Genealogy of Wan Family and Guang Yun, in the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty, Zhou Wuwang named his brother Shisizuo as a place of embroidery and established Tengguo (in the southwest of tengxian, Shandong). At the beginning of the Warring States, Tengguo was destroyed by Yue, later recovered and soon destroyed by Song. Teng Guoyuan's royal family took Sui as their surname and named Teng. Among the Teng family, one family changed its name to Teng family in order to avoid being hurt by enemies.

Ancestor: Teng Wengong. Teng's family comes from Ji's surname and is a descendant of Teng Wang in the middle of the Warring States Period. When Teng Wengong was in power, a small country with a mere five miles was called a "good country" instead of being annexed by a big country under the condition of "eight hundred vassals coexisting and seven warring countries contending for hegemony". Therefore, the descendants of Teng are regarded as the ancestors of Teng.

Surname Zu ②: Wrong Uncle Embroidery. It is recorded in Guangyun that Teng is a descendant of Teng Hou, and the descendants of Teng Hou take the country as their surname, which is called Teng. Therefore, China people with Teng surname in the world are descendants of Cuoshu embroidery, the son of Zhou Wenwang who was sealed in Tengguo 3000 years ago. Ancient Tengguo is the earliest birthplace of Teng's surname in today's tengxian. Therefore, the descendants of Teng family regarded Cuoshu embroidery as the ancestor of Teng.

Second, migration distribution.

Teng's surname is not among the top 100 in Taiwan Province province. Teng's origin is very early. The Yellow Emperor had twenty-five sons born to four mothers. The Yellow Emperor divided them into twelve phratries and gave them twelve surnames. Teng surname is one of them. According to the Records of Tongzhi, there is also a Teng surname that originated from the royal family name of Zhou Dynasty, namely Ji surname. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, Zhou Wuwang embroidered Rutten (now southwest of tengxian, Shandong Province) for Zhou Wenwang's 14th son, that is, his younger brother. Later, Tengguo was conquered by Yue, but China was quickly restored. Later, it was destroyed by the Song State, and later generations took the name "Teng" as a memorial. Teng's family later developed into a noble family in Kaifeng, known as the King of Kaifeng. According to Guangyun, "Uncle Zhou Wen embroidered Rutten, and later generations took the country as their surname." According to "A Brief Copy of the Tengshi Family in Wumen", "My Tengshi family originated from the fourteenth uncle embroidery of Wang Wen in Ji Zhou, which is now tengxian, Shandong. Teng Zhiyou's country began in the thirteenth year of King Wu and ended in the thirty-sixth year of King Ding Si, which lasted 639 years. There are many poems in the seven chapters of Mencius, but they have been detailed in the world. Children and grandchildren take the country as their surname to reproduce. Clans did not exist between Qin and Han dynasties, and its origin was very obvious. After the Han and Yuan emperors, the corps commander (Teng) began to appear in Beihai. Later, everyone who made great achievements in history books had their own people. Although the county is different from the south to the north, the origin is not slightly different. There are three people who can test Teng today: one is Teng in Beihai, starting from the stroke of the corps commander (Teng) ... The other is Teng in Nanyang ... The third is Teng in Dongyang, which started at the order of the company (Teng) and started in Dongyang and Wuzhou. After six generations, it is divided into three branches, which belong to Qing and Qi in the north, Bashu in the west and Wu in the east. I, Yan Zu of Wu Shu Dian, and the Beggars' Sect also started from Dongyang, with Si as the originator, with bloodline and vivid genealogy ... "According to Guangyun, the Teng clan lives in Nanyang County, which is near Nanyang County in Henan Province today.
