Wen Da Shilou was built in the 31st year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty [1905]. As an earlier residential building on Fifth Avenue, the building was located at Machang Road in the British Concession of Tianjin at that time, with the Romanesque main building complex of Tianjin Institute of Technology in the east and the former residence of Liu Guanxiong, the former naval chief of the Republic of China government with European symbolism style in the west (now the office building of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics).
2. Cai's former residence
Cai's former residence is located at No.33 Singapore Road (now Dali Road 1 Heping District) in the old British Concession. It was Cai's residence and ancestral hall.
The building was built in 1935, which is a mansion-style building, combining Chinese and western styles. The courtyard is spacious, the walls are high and wide, and the dark brown door has a luxurious and rigorous style. The main building in the courtyard, namely the apartment, is a three-story brick-wood western-style building with the style of Roman architecture.
3. Qingwangfu
Qing Palace, located at No.55 Chongqing Road, Heping District, Tianjin (formerly Cambridge Road, British Concession), is located in the hinterland of the "Five Avenue Historic Building Area" with the most concentrated historical buildings in Tianjin. It is a historical building with special protection level in Tianjin and a cultural relic protection unit in Tianjin.
The Qing Palace was built in 1922. It was originally a private residence designed and supervised by eunuchs in charge in the late Qing Dynasty. It was listed as the first China building in the former British Concession. Later, it was bought by Zaizhen, the fourth generation prince of the Qing Dynasty, and his family lived here, hence the name "Qing Palace".
Extended data
Architectural features of Fifth Avenue: There are few foreigners among the indigenous residents of Fifth Avenue, and most of them are China homeowners. They don't understand the style of western architecture, so they delete and add at will, which gives architects more room to play freely. Compared with the formal western-style buildings on Jiefang North Road, the foreign buildings on Fifth Avenue are much more casual.
In addition, the privacy of Five Avenue buildings constitutes a deep and quiet atmosphere. This psychological externalization is reflected in the environmental image of Fifth Avenue. The scale of the house is pleasant, the tendency is low, and there are no high-rise buildings; The yard faces the street, and the flowers and trees in the yard cover the windows inside. Most importantly, the courtyard walls are solid walls, and railings are rarely used.
