The Historical Evolution of Tianning Temple
Jin Zhangzong was rebuilt in the early years of Ming Chang (1 190) and renamed Tianning Temple.

In the late Qing Dynasty, wars were frequent, pilgrims were scarce, and the number of monks decreased to more than a dozen. In the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu (1908), he failed to preside over the Buddhist regulations and was punished by the government in various villages. Temple property was confiscated, monks were driven away, Buddhist cultural relics were abolished, and Tianning Temple Zhong Yi Primary School was established. Since then, Buddhism has become a new school. In the spring of the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), local self-government organs in Neixiang demolished Buddhist temples, built more than 400 school buildings and established Wanxi Village Normal School. In the 27th year of the Republic of China (1938), in order to prevent Japanese planes from bombing, the local self-government militia in Neixiang demolished the ancient pagoda. At this point, the Buddhist remains of Tianning Temple are gone. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Tianning Temple once set up the fourth prison in Henan Province, with local state-owned Angel Tobacco Factory, Neixiang Cotton Mill, Neixiang Technical School and the fifth senior middle school in the county. 198 1 year, the school moved, the school buildings were demolished, and the Millennium Buddhist holy land went up in smoke and became farmland. Tianning Temple has disappeared for 22 years, but its reputation still exists. Buddhist disciples and social sages dream of rebuilding the ancient temple.

In the spring of 2003, retired cadres headed by Mr. Cao Bingwu formed a review group and proposed to rebuild Tianning Temple. Mashankou Town Party Committee highly praised it, and then set up a preparatory committee for the reconstruction of Tianning Temple, instructing the review group of retired cadres to carry out publicity and fund-raising. In June of the same year, 5438+065438+ 10, the town leaders presided over the groundbreaking ceremony, and Fan Honglie, the chairman of Mashankou Town Construction Company, took the initiative to undertake the renovation project. In order to rebuild Tianning Temple, the veteran cadres of the appraisal group ran for several months and worked hard to raise tens of thousands of yuan. Due to the huge demand for funds and limited funds raised, Fan Honglie, the chairman of the company, generously donated more than 2 million yuan, which lasted for 8 years and took time to repair the ancient temple wholeheartedly. In 2009, the project was completed and the shape was ready, which is what it looks like today.
