There is a beautiful legend in Zhaodong. A long time ago, a southerner pulling camels came here. He traveled all over the country with a unique vision. He thinks this is a treasure trove of geomantic omen. So every summer, he will come here with luggage and food for treasure hunting. One day, he found a big grass as thick as a hoe, so he took it away as a treasure. After the news spread, everyone around heard the news, but no one dug up the big grass, only some grass. Because the roots of these grasses are sweet, they are named sweet licorice, so people call this place Sweet Grass Mountain, which is Zhaodong.

Zhaodong developed in Liao and Jin Dynasties and was founded in 1735. The Qing Dynasty was a nomadic place in the Houqi of Guoerluosi. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the people gradually became rich. On February 1906 and 1, General Heilongjiang set up Zhaozhou Hall, and at the same time set up Zhao Dong's defense experience in Changwucheng. The following year, officials were appointed and officially took office in Zhaodong on 1908.
