Introduction of picking flowers in Wangjiang
Wangjiang flower picking is a traditional handicraft skill of Han nationality in Wangjiang County, Anhui Province, which is rooted in the folk, native and passed down from generation to generation. According to textual research, this art first began in the Tang Dynasty, and its development history is about 1000 years. According to legend, in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, people living at the foot of Leichi Xiangming Mountain have been guarding sparsely populated peaks, mountains, ridges and hills, and lived a life of "boating and casting nets during the day and lighting and casting nets at night". Although they are not very rich, they still live comfortably. Perhaps out of a pursuit for a better and happier life, in addition to the day-to-day "male ploughing and female weaving", villagers who are born to love beauty often ponder together how to add some patterns to their own hand-woven scarves and headdresses. In this way, the original Wangjiang folk flower picking came into being in the villagers' pondering.
