Hospital History of Geng Xin Hospital
Under the leadership of Father Shi Ren, the first president of Geng Xin Hospital, the affairs of the hospital are getting on the right track day by day. Despite the initial loss, it persisted with the help of the parish in order to contribute to the church and save people. Thanks to the painstaking efforts of Vice Bishop Di Gang (now the Archbishop of Taipei Diocese), Father Yuan Junxiu (1975) and Vice Bishop Yao Zongjian, today's achievements and scale have been achieved.

At the beginning of 1959, Archbishop Luo actively raised funds to build a well-equipped nursing midwifery school in the hospital in view of the vigorous development of medical services in Taiwan Province Province, but it was urgent to train nursing talents. Li Pinghe, a master of education at the University of Leuven in Belgium, was appointed as the principal, responsible for the preparation of the school building. After more than two years of preparatory work, Geng Xin Nursing Midwifery School officially opened on May 196 1 2008 14, and took on the task of cultivating nursing talents.

1in the autumn of 964, Bishop Luo, the chairman of the board, witnessed the sharp increase in population and medical needs in Xindian area, and the original wards and medical equipment of the hospital were no longer enough. In order to provide better medical services for people in Xindian area, he ordered Dean Yuan to plan and build a new ward and expand medical equipment in the east wing of the original hospital. On May 3rd of the following year, the new project of the East Ward broke ground and officially started on June 3rd. Thanks to the assistance of relevant units from all walks of life, all projects were completed on schedule at the end of 1967 10. The Eastern District covers an area of 350 ping, with 265,438+000 ping. * * It is planned to be a six-story building with one basement and five floors above the ground, in which all the second to fifth floors are planned to be wards (that is, the wards in building B at present, * * * can accommodate about 200 beds of various types. )

1970, the Sisters of Notre Dame felt that the campus of St. Joseph Hospital established by the Order in Dongyuan Street, Wanhua District, Taipei was too small to meet the growing medical needs in this area. So he proposed a cooperation plan to Archbishop Jia of Taipei Diocese. The Knights allocated land and part of the funds from Yonghe Zhongxing Street to build a seven-story medical building, which was officially completed and put into use in July 1972 and named as "Hospital Yonghe Branch".

1975, under the forward-looking leadership of the former president, Vice Bishop Yao Zongjian, the modern medical building with the floor of 10 was extended to the right in the east wing ward of Gengshen Hospital, and the latest medical equipment was purchased, medical professionals were recruited, and special outpatient clinics were set up, which increased services and improved medical quality. 1979, Building A was officially completed and put into use, and Geng Xin Hospital became today's landscape, and was evaluated as a regional teaching hospital by the Ministry of Health.
