What maintenance and management skills should be remembered for black pine bonsai?
Black pine, also known as white bud pine, belongs to Pinaceae evergreen trees. Black pine bonsai, as a kind of pine bonsai, is highly respected by people with its vigorous posture, indomitable spirit and lasting cold resistance, and is deeply loved by pot friends. At the same time, I like to grow up in deep and fertile neutral soil with good drainage.

Black pine is native to Japan. It is cultivated in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai in China. The bark is gray-black at first, brown when it matures, and has scaly split cones. Pine needles are hard and thick, dark green and shiny. The branches are placed horizontally, which has a dignified and quaint charm. Its crown is conical when young and tends to be flat and fan-shaped when old.

That black pine bonsai is so popular, how should it be maintained?

1 month: At this time, the black pine bonsai is in a dormant period. Hibernation, yes, you heard me right. We can roll it up and trim it. Mainly to repair, supplemented by flat binding. The main thing is to cut off the diseased branches of the old branches and pull out the yellow and fallen pine needles. Then, bind and finalize the design according to the shape you imagine. Don't push too hard, or you will cause damage to the branches. You can spend the winter outdoors except in the cold areas in the north. At the same time, if the wind is too dry in winter, we should pay attention to proper watering to keep the basin soil slightly wet.

February: The weather is still cold, and you can also do binding and shaping, thinning and pruning. In case of plant diseases and insect pests, the mixture of sulfur and stone can be sprayed for 30-40 times for prevention and control. It can also increase the growth of trees.

March: Spring returns to the earth, and the temperature gradually begins to rise. The new buds begin to sprout gradually, and we can supplement the water needed for the growth of black pine. Later this month, we can change pots. Mainly to cut off the upright roots of young trees. Twisted roots are corrected and arranged before being cut off. It is forbidden to keep the roots moist after cutting, and try not to damage the roots when changing pots.

April: After changing pots, we will step into daily maintenance management. Do not fertilize for half a month after changing pots. As long as the daily leaf water and soil of black pine bonsai are slightly wet. Then it is to ensure that the whole black pine is evenly illuminated on all sides. This requires us to rotate the pots every 10- 15 days. It can be fertilized in half a month.

May: After fertilization, the crown and branches begin to thicken, and the new buds slowly grow into candles. Our main job this month is to get these new buds cut off with our fingers before the needles see green. The second is the daily supply of water and fertilizer. (according to the growth of the tree)

June: The new buds have grown into needles. Bud picking operation can be carried out (new potted plants can be ignored for bonsai with stable and vigorous tree growth for more than two years). Don't keep them at this time. You just need to keep those weak buds. Fertilizer and water should be kept during bud picking. (A little secret I shared) How to choose? Huyou only need to cut it from the base of the new bud, leaving about 5 groups of old needles in each group. 10 days or so, the bud will be regenerated for the second time.

July: you can continue to pick buds, but you can't apply fertilizer, because the water absorption of new buds becomes worse and the growth potential decreases after harvest, and fertilization has little effect during this period. Fertilization can only be carried out after secondary bud regeneration.

August: It is mainly to protect the secondary buds. The secondary buds grow about 10 days after bud picking. Some strong branches will give birth to 4-5 buds. If not treated in time, they will grow into clumps and destroy the whole tree. At this time, we can use tweezers to remove the buds in the up and down direction and keep the buds in the horizontal direction. In order to balance the growth potential, the upper strong branches are generally selected to leave weak buds and the lower weak branches to leave strong buds.

September: Considering that the secondary buds are in the vigorous growth period, the water and fertilizer supply must be sufficient at this time. If it is found that the bud is not growing well, it can be sprayed with a proper amount of foliar fertilizer (dilute and decomposed bean cake water fertilizer or nutrient solution) to promote its development. Besides, what if you run into each other? Autumn tiger? , foliar water can't be broken!

10: The growth of black pine bonsai basically stops, and there is enough energy to make it safe for the winter. You can apply wintering fertilizer once to strengthen the branches.

1 1 month: Our main job this month is to pull out needles. This kind of needle drawing also has certain skills and attention. That is, the weak branches do not pull out the needles, and new needles are pulled out according to the strength of the branches (four groups of strong branches and five groups of weak branches), and all the old leaves are pulled out. The tree shape after pulling out is the most ornamental in a year, and a small amount of fertilizer can be applied once this month to ensure nutrient supply.

1February: Began to enter the dormant period. You can continue to pull out the needle and trim it. Pruning can only be minor (thinning branches and spreading leaves), and after pruning, the mixture of stone and sulfur can be sprinkled once. At the same time, we should also pay attention to the heat preservation and water conservation of black pine bonsai.
