According to the official website, Shaowu Municipal People's Government, Shaowu City is a city under the jurisdiction of Nanping City, Fujian Province. It is called "Iron City" and is located at the southern foot of Wuyi Mountain, beside Futunxi River. Historically, it was called Nanwuyi. With a total area of 2,860 square kilometers, it governs 19 townships (streets) and 135 administrative villages and 46 communities, with a registered population of 298,000.
Shaowu has a long history. Built 1700 years. It was once one of the eight prefectures in Fujian. There are 2 prime ministers, 7 ministers of the Ministry of War and 27 1 scholar in history. The Heping Ancient Town in Shaowu City is also the place where the Huang clansmen in the world seek their roots and worship their ancestors. The descendants of Huang Qiao, assistant minister of the Ministry of Industry in the later Tang Dynasty, are all over the coastal provinces and Southeast Asian countries. Li Gang, a famous figure in the Song Dynasty, and Yan Yu, a literary critic, were both Shaowu people.
During the revolutionary war, the leading organs of the Party, such as Fujian-Jiangxi Provincial Committee, Fujian-Central Special Committee and Fujian Provincial Committee, were established successively. Shaowu is a "granary near the sea" in northern Fujian and one of the commodity grain base counties (cities) in China and Fujian Province. The forest coverage rate of Shaowu City is 70%.
